Trump has put broader and deeper tariff's on Canada than China. Canada's % of trade with China is less than the US. $$$ talk. So it's Trump who's *actually* moved closer to China than to Canada (it's closest and most loyal ally). Should we not diversify? x.com/LondonRealTV/s…

Another example of pairing subject matter expertise with agentic AI. This is what new product managers look like.
Michał Podlewski@trajektoriePL

Cardiologist wins 3rd place at Anthropic's hackathon. Out of 13,000 applications. Built in 7 days by Michał Nedoszytko MD. Coded day and night - in the hospital, in the cloud, while flying from Brussels to San Francisco. A few years ago, it would have been impossible for a doctor to build this alone in just a couple of days. AI changed that. The project is called postvisit.ai. It is an AI agentic care platform for patients. Including reverse AI scribe it is a companion that guides the patient from the moment they leave the doctor's office. Powered by the massive context window of Opus 4.6, it allows patients to explore their full medical history, connected devices, Evidence Based resources and external data sources — all in one place. Today, the barrier to entry has vanished; even a practicing physician can build an application from scratch.

trying out codex again today. so far it was really good at finding security related problems but when it came time to build an actual feature claude seems to have done a much better job.

@colin_dunlap I don’t know man. You have a billionaire as president and the wealthiest cabinet in history. Seems a little ingenuous that this is the one “rich person” you decide to call out for their views. But sure you do you.

Mikaela Shiffrin has a First Amendment right to say this. I have a First Amendment right to say she grew up the child of a rich anesthesiologist at ski resorts in this country that offer next-to-zero socioeconomic diversity. I don’t need her lectures.

@MarkReid42 Then blame Harper for making the Conservatives unelectable. He marginalized PC members during minority gov'ts and ostracized us during the majority. So we left. Without a centrist pull in the party, you cannot win a majority in Canada.

LIBERALS Repeat after me. "TRUMP did not create the mess that Canada is in." The decline of almost every aspect of Canada is a result of incompetence and malfeasance by the Liberal government over the past decade!

@TheoFleury14 As a once longtime Conservative member and riding board member. We “red torys” or socially liberal fiscal conservatives were slowly marginalized then pushed out by Harper with his majority. The party can’t win without us and you can’t court us. So…. Here you are. That’s a fact

If the Conservatives don’t find a way to stop the Liberals from cheating they’ll never win another election. I only say this cause there’s no way in hell Canada voted 4 consecutive times for the Liberals.

@RJtheCableGuy @GooseKillerinAU @realityof1984 @David_J_Bier It’s the tactic that’s at issue. how does a civilian know these aren’t fake agents until after they comply? Criminals will copy it Civilians will hesitate to stop Real cops will face more resistance This makes law enforcement less safe, not more.

I suppose it could, if would-be carjackers decided to watch and see who is messing with DHS officials and then follows them from the scene... If you're here illegally, or you're someone who's been messing with ICE, you might fall for an impersonator if they try to stop you. If, however, you're not someone who's been messing with ICE, and someone in an unmarked car tried to pull you over and you suspect they're impersonating DHS, you can drive to a police station and/or call 911 and let them know. If you flee, they'd have to be able to stop the vehicle, which would require atypical driving skills and/or coordination with people in other vehicles to force you to stop.

DHS agents in MN swerved in front of an unarmed woman who was recording them, once again WALK IN FRONT OF A CAR with guns drawn. The only thing they've learned from Renee Good is how to get away with killing people. A local cop intervened to stop the illegal arrest!

@GooseKillerinAU @realityof1984 @David_J_Bier But I am curious. Without an official vehicle would this would not be a method almost any criminal could use to carjack, hijack trucks, etc. It would seem to be a hugely bad president to set for policing. No?

@realityof1984 @David_J_Bier Nah, you’re stupid. You are arguing that the agents were unrecognizable, but we all know she knew exactly who they were which is why she harassed them. You’re not bright enough to see the contradiction.

@econofreight @Tamara268998213 @Graham_Mark_E @D_ByersArtist It's an option. Some people may want that. But that is what "puts us on the menu" to get eaten. Our sovereignty is not real. We must take whatever deal the US offers. We have no leverage. The US is the ONLY table, so we would in fact be, as you say, a "colony". Not a nation.

@ddonat @Tamara268998213 @Graham_Mark_E @D_ByersArtist So finding new tables puts us on the menu. There is no problem being a resource colony and manufacturer of semifinished goods for massive US operations. They have access to the global market and we access that through them, and we should be expanding on that.

@Tamara268998213 @Graham_Mark_E @D_ByersArtist If you’re talking about as a nation that is actually aligned with Carney’s Davos statement. If we are reliant on a single power (hegemon) We have the performance of sovereignty, not actual sovereignty. So you we a choice. Be on the menu or find new tables.

@InTheNameOfPun @Graham_Mark_E @D_ByersArtist @BeingJWood Ok. So let’s say he and I are leftists. To get that off the table. The point being made - Canada and USA were SO CLOSE that most Canadians felt we were BFFs. But it appears that a major portion of the US saw us as nothing more than a vassal state. Like Belarus to Russia. True?

@Fr3dFlntst0n3 @AmazingZoltan @MackinnonNeilP I wouldn’t say they are opposite. Classical liberalism and Conservatism both agree on small government. The split is around the role of individuals vs institutions. 2A is actually a liberal ideal to support freedom. Conservatives ideals on exec authority to support social order

If you think Canada exporting canola and lobster to China is a more concerning lurch towards authoritarianism than the U.S. government shooting nurses and soccer moms in the face there might be something wrong with you.

@MrJoKeR604 That isn't what happened. Trump set tariffs to balance the trade deficit because we are in a little bit of a financial pickle. He told allies not to retaliate because we were just trying to balance trade. Allies retaliated. Start there. That's where it began.

What happened between Canada and the US? *Trump starts calling Canada the 51st state, calling our Prime Minister "governor", slaps tariffs on our products* That's what happened, we were minding our own fcking business.
