The CofE does pretty well in terms of safeguarding training. But it’s a complete disaster when it comes to dealing with safeguarding failures of which there are many.
Think of it like a health service that focuses entirely on prevention, but completely fails anyone who is sick.
Some news from the monastery: a couple of weeks ago, my request to make Life Vows was accepted by the Community! The service itself will take place in mid-December; before then, there is lots of prep to do. Exciting and daunting in equal measure!
Could all the @churchofengland#bishops tweeting about disability & euthanasia get involved with fighting the targeting of disability benefits please? Otherwise it looks like anti ‘death’ rather than pro ‘life’

Today I received my 4th copy of "How Clergy Thrive In Ministry". If levels of actual thriving correlated to opportunities to read about thriving, I would be doing very well indeed! But I appreciate the (apparently ubiquitous) thought.
