We are week 20 into 2026 And at least 24 women and 7 children have died from domestic violence. Zero outrage. People are still shocked it could happen in their street, but it isn’t unimaginable, it’s actually very predictable.

so the government has pulled funding for RespectEd, wellington's only sexual violence prevention agency, and it looks like they'll have to close down by august. meanwhile, NZ's rate of sexual violence (particularly against children) dwarfs our peers and continues to rise

I can’t believe that with all the lives we’ve already lost to suicide due to mental illness, there are still people who believe it’s a decision made with a sound mind. No one considers death as a solution unless they’re unwell & truly struggling with tremendous pain as a result.
