Michelle Obama Asks Who’s Gonna Tell Trump He Might Be Seeking ‘One Of Those Black Jobs’ huffpost.com/entry/michelle…
English

@thischairrocks @BernieSanders Would you want an 81-year-old with shaky hands operating on you? Do you want an 81-year-old with a shaky voice being the last buttress holding up democracy?
English

Of course it's ageist! Democracy depends on the engagement of *all* citizens. It's about ideology & actions—@BernieSanders, anyone?— not age. thetimes-tribune.com/opinion/it-s-n…
English

@jonathanalter I noticed that too. And so did @maddow . But it’s hard to imagine the Democratic Party, in Chicago, dumping a Biden unwilling to cede. My hope is that Biden makes an announcement to leave in middle of the GOP convention, taking all the attention away from Trump.

Sen. @CoryBooker provides bottles of cold water to press corps staking out Democratic Senators meeting. 90°F right now on Capitol Hill.
English

@NickKristof I don’t think he’s claiming he’s more vigorous, just that Clooney just buzzed in. But I do want Biden to step aside.
English

Biden is really trying to claim that he's more vigorous than George Clooney? Really? I've traveled with Clooney for days over rough roads in sub-Saharan Africa, and it's just sad to see Biden pretend that he can outlast Clooney at anything. I admire Biden. So does Clooney. But at least Clooney put his name on his essay; this is anonymous White House backstabbing, and incompetent to boot.

Biden is fighting back on Clooney. From a source familiar with event planning: “The President stayed for over 3 hours, while Clooney took a photo quickly and left.”

@ClaudeP65994331 @RitchieTorres Internal infighting = public democracy.
English

Very good point Ritchie! I know in all the noise, Joe Biden has stated unequivocally, that he is staying in the race. I truly believe, Democrats should be pushing out information on Donald Trump and his project 2025 agenda. Being silent and continuing this internal infighting within the Democratic Party is wasting time and hurting the party. You guys need to unite like yesterday! LFG Democrats!
English

In determining how to proceed as a party, there must be a serious reckoning with the down-ballot effect of whomever we nominate.
What matters is not how we feel but what the numbers tell us.
An unsentimental analysis of the cold hard numbers—which have no personal feelings or political loyalties—should inform what we decide and whom we nominate.
If we’re going to choose a particular path, we should be clear-eyed about its consequences. Blindness is not bliss amid the terrifying threat of a Trump presidency.

@StevenFulop I'll remember this when you run for governor. It wasn't just a "bad debate." That's spin. It was an utter inability to form sentences.
English

I just don’t think this press release is helpful…. The voters voted for him in a primary and he is the same person he was 3 weeks ago when you (and others) were praising him. A bad debate or Washington pundits commenting are not reasons to walk away from him. He is one of the most successful presidents in modern history + he deserves a second term. We should all be digging in and working harder on his behalf - not creating chaos

I know President Biden cares deeply about the future of our country. That's why I am asking that he declare that he won't run for reelection. My full statement:
English

I have reached out to @BillPascrell, @SenSchumer , @RepJeffries and @CoryBooker to urge them to fight to take Biden off the ticket and thanked @RepSherrill for her leadership. I feel rage at the circle-the-wagons campaign going on, but this has made me feel an iota of agency
English

@jeffjarvis @RepSherrill Based on my conversations with friends, her stand is completely in line with her constituents.
English

Who all is going to primary @RepSherrill to assure she does not become NJ governor or return to Congress?
