This is why I stress flow and pacing over efficiency when it comes to storytelling.
Should you avoid purple prose? Yes, because it’s annoying to read, but if you have a certain cadence and rhythm to your writing that takes just a little bit longer than the “efficient” method, you leave a bigger impression because it sounds more unique.
A straight line is cool, but waves create more imagery.

Stalin revived the Orthodox Church during WW2, built huge amounts of churches after the war and is widely admired by millions of Russian Orthodox Christians for how he drove out the Nazis and brought their religion back into Soviet life.
But "It can't be so!"

I don’t think 90% of this country has any idea what we are in store for if we don’t start doing something about US corps sending our tech jobs offshore.
We have laid off over 700,000 tech workers in this country since 2022, and US corps &
Big tech have hired more than that amount in India over the corresponding period.
And their offshoring plans are ACCELERATING.
All while US grad unemployment & underemployment surges along with student debt.
If left unchecked, This will not end well.

FWIW, I tend to land on this side of the AI Job Apocalypse argument. We generally do a poor job of predicting what cannot yet be seen. I’m excited to see the jobs of the future. However, here is the real risk to you & your kids jobs: Offshoring. We should care that US workers benefit from those jobs of the future by investing in Americans & resisting the lazy short term allure of offshoring in search of the cheapest possible foreign labor. History is very clear on how mass offshoring ends. We did it with autos, steel & mfg in the 70’s & 80’s, and we ended up The Rust Belt.

it is wild just how many foreign mercenaries there are in hoholstan these days and how underreported this goes. it is a fact that most of the infantry manpower for the AFU's counterattack in kupiansk came from units composed entirely of colombian and brazilian mercenaries. this will increasingly become the primary model for the NATO side in ukraine - western drone operators, engineering, & logistics, but third-world infantry.
once again, if you try to explain this to the average russian, they don't even believe you. another case where is actual reality of things on the ground and the duplicity of the enemy is far worse than the average russian is even capable of imagining.
