@FPLfrasier XG is flawed if it not taking in to account the footballer who is getting the chance. The same heading chance given to Maguire vs Lindelof should have a different XG…but then it will become even more subjective than it currently is. This is why XG should be seen as a guide only

I like Carrick obviously. Doesn’t mean you ignore data when someone presents something to you. Sure, you can find more context to the data. Personally I haven’t given a lot of thought to our underlying data yet. Reason I have avoided delving into these debates. One thing I would like for data people to look at is who was getting those good xG opportunities for Amorim vs Carrick. My feeling is likes of Dalot were more involved under Amorim.
Spencer Mossman@fc_mossman

Some observations about Manchester United's underlying data this season under Ruben Amorim and under Michael Carrick: - Amorim's United were better by almost every measure except results - its known Amorim had a better xG differential, but there's a response I'm seeing that his xG is inflated by trailing game states, which is incorrect; in neutral scorelines (the match is tied), Amorim and Carrick have nearly the same xG differential per match... Carrick's Utd are producing more xG, while Amorim's were conceding less - even non-xG or xT events like high turnovers forced/conceded and deep entries forced/conceded all favor Amorim's Utd If through the traditional data analysis lens Amorim's Utd looks better, the question flow becomes: Do I care about the underlying data? - If no, thanks for reading this far, my account and this post probably aren't for you, feel free to quote this calling me a nerd or leave a reply like "I ain't reading all that"... it helps with the algorithm :) Are there other data angles where Carrick's United does look better than Amorim's, and if so, are they also reasons why other successful teams are successful? - Still here? Awesome. If there are alternative angles I'm not considering, I'd love to think through them. That said, if they need to be scalable to other situations, otherwise it doesn't really matter if they're driving United's current results, because like the goals to xG differential, its not sustainable. Are there non-data reasons for the results disparity? - Absolutely, and it would be stupid to not consider these. Carrick clearly has a management style that better suits the club and the squad mentality, among other things. The confidence of the players/general vibe of the club could very well be the difference between the quality of result. I don't believe this to be true, but I would not rule it out, or at least it being one of several contributing factors. But if you believe this to be the case, you need to then think through: Will the good vibes last forever? - Eventually something has to give - either the underlying data catches up to the on-pitch results, or the on-pitch results drop to meet the data. Feel free to think through which is more likely, and how that will impact the vibes. Perhaps this is as simple as Amorim was the manager United needed to right the ship, and now Carrick is the manager United needs to maximize results. There are arguments for and against United sacking Amorim, as well as making Carrick's appointment permanent - I'm not here to persuade you one way or the other, what you choose to do with the facts I've presented and the other facts you've digested + your relationship with your emotions is your business. Thanks for reading!

Our family has appealed to all party office holders, senior leadership, MNAs, MPAs, and Senators to come to Adiala Jail this Tuesday to build pressure on the government to: 1. Allow immediate access for Imran Khan’s lawyers and family. 2. Transfer Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital for proper medical examination and treatment, in the presence of specialists, his personal doctor, and family. 3. Ensure Chief Justice Dogar takes up the bail applications of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi so they can be released from this illegal imprisonment without delay. Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are being held in solitary confinement, one of the harshest forms of treatment in violation of Pakistani law and international human rights standards.

As another wheat season nears its end, we are forced to watch how a vibrant agriculture sector that was producing record output just a few years ago, is now being driven to the ground by policy debacles that have been a consistent feature of four years of PMLN rule. After promising 3 million tonnes of wheat as a ‘strategic reserve’ to be procured from Kissan Card holders at Rs. 3500, under a new wheat procurement system that is neither market based nor state led, the facts on the ground are as follows: Not a single maund, not a single grain of wheat has been procured yet. Here is how this disaster has unfolded: a.Govt announces a Rs 3500 support price for 3.0 million tonnes. b.Govt says it will not procure directly but will outsource procurement to 11 private companies. c.No PPRA. No tender. NO TRANSPARENCY. No one knows how these companies have been selected. Or what terms they have really been given. d.The companies were promised; KIBOR minus 1% from banks with a sovereign guarantee to procure the wheat; free storage in govt godowns; and reasonable profits in the Sept-March period. e.South Punjab wheat is harvested. Procurement fails to begin. The Govt is silent. f.Central and North Punjab farmers start harvesting. Kissan Card holders (smallest landowners) cannot wait any longer. They start selling to middlemen at below the support price. g.At this point, the story breaks. The bank loans that were to be secured for these 11 companies and finance the procurement were not approved. There is no money to buy the wheat, even today. h.The Govt remains deafeningly silent, while insiders report to the press that the policy was ‘a half-baked idea with an arrogant attitude’. i.Govt is now scrambling for funds. But alas, these funds that are not needed anymore as most of the wheat has already been sold. The indifference and callousness are unforgiveable. A usurper Chief Minister obsessed with vanity and her own personal photograph has proven, time and again, that she is unfit to hold any public office. The loans, which were ill-conceived to begin with, were her bright idea in January. Completely oblivious to ground realities, she never considered that the banks would not fund her ill planned policy. She forgot that they are banks, not Form 47 ROs. But what does it matter? Could she care less? It’s not like the people voted for her.

One day I'd likely want to be a coach. At the least, I want to understand elite coaching at the top level first hand. If any coaches follow me or anyone knows someone, I'd be grateful for some mentorship & to observe. I have a brain full of football and enthusiasm. DMs open.

They signed Nico Gonzalez for £65m in 2025 January window just because Rodri got injured, he wasn’t good enough, and they binned him. They signed Reijnders last summer for £70m, used him for a few games, he wasn’t good enough, they binned him instantly. Now they’re about to sign Elliot Anderson for £100m. That’s close to £250m spent on a single position in the space of a year, no other club has that kind of financial luxury. This is what Arsenal are up against, financial cheats with endless pool of blood money. All their trophies are asterisked in my eyes.
Fabrizio Romano@FabrizioRomano

🚨 Manchester City are prepared to make a very important financial proposal to Elliot Anderson, leading the race as revealed since March. Manchester United still attentive and keen if Man City deal won’t happen. Nothing advanced with Forest yet. 🎥 youtu.be/3Ig8tR8OcHs
