Many thanks to all those who have donated. It means a lot. The outcome of this case will have far reaching consequences and ultimately, I hope, a reining in of some of the more excessive practices and abuses of power that have taken place over the past few years at @COPFS.
Mark Hirst@Documark

My legal battle goes on. But regrettably we need to make a fresh appeal for donations. This film explains the reasons and the timeline of the past 6 years. youtu.be/YkEQSI6znY4?si…

I am glad @thebarcouncil are making a clear public stand against the outrageous attempt to prosecute my colleague, Raj Menon KC, for reminding jurors of the text of this plaque on the wall of the Old Bailey. The judge in this ancient case locked the jurors away for contempt of court for failing to return a guilty verdict. They held out against the pressure of being "locked up without food for 2 nights" until they were freed on a writ of Habeas corpus by the Chief Justice. The case established the right of jurors to "give their verdict according to their convictions". This case is a line in the sand for the criminal bar. Any judge who objects to me reading the text of this plaque to a jury can lock me up too. Because I will not be prevented from doing my duty by threats and judicial intimidation. We are all Raj Menon now.

The Bar Council@thebarcouncil

Bar Council Chair statement on contempt of court case Barrister Rajiv Menon KC has won an appeal on an important point of lack of jurisdiction. In a ruling on Tuesday, the Court of Appeal stopped Mr Menon's forthcoming case, saying there was no jurisdiction for the High Court to hear the case. But the senior judges left the option for the challenge to be resumed under correct procedural powers. Chair of the Bar Kirsty Brimelow KC said: “I have followed with concern this exceptional attempt to refer Rajiv Menon KC for contempt of court. A barrister has a duty to represent their clients fearlessly and judge-instigated contempt proceedings risk a chilling effect on the profession. The Court of Appeal judgment is welcomed, and it is hoped that this now is an end of this troubling episode."

Ever the charlatan, Fox makes an entirely false analogy, and deliberately omits that we were repeatedly informed by Israel that it seized recordings from Hamas militants proudly taping their rapes, gang rapes, and other forms of sexual violence. Yet not a single such image has materialized. Under these very different circumstances, "pics or it didn't happen" is a perfectly appropriate response.
Andrew Fox@Mr_Andrew_Fox

Imagine this in any other context. Imagine your wife, mother or sister had been raped, and you had people on the internet demanding “pics or it didn’t happen”.

⭕️ NEW: 20 House Democrats Demand Hegseth Suspend U.S. Military Operations in Ecuador After Joint Strikes on Civilian Dairy Farm 🔹Twenty House Democrats sent a letter Wednesday to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth demanding the immediate suspension of joint U.S.-Ecuador military operations and a full accounting of their legal basis — citing evidence that U.S.-backed forces bombed a civilian dairy farm with no known links to drug trafficking. 🔹The letter cites a March 24 NYT investigation finding that one site targeted in “Operation Total Extermination” was a cattle farm in northern Ecuador whose residents were interrogated, beaten, had their homes burned, and were subjected to torture before an aerial bombardment on March 6, three days after Ecuadorian forces arrived. 🔹 The lawmakers — including Reps. Jesús “Chuy” García, Greg Casar, Rashida Tlaib, Ro Khanna, Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Pramila Jayapal — note the operations were never authorized by Congress and raise concerns about potential Leahy Law violations, which bar U.S. military assistance to foreign forces credibly implicated in human rights abuses. 🔹 They also flag Ecuador President Noboa’s “authoritarian drift” and investigative reporting linking his family business to drug trafficking networks — the same networks he claims to be fighting. They say Noboa has overseen violent repression of Indigenous protests, threats against the Constitutional Court, the dissolution of two political parties, and the arrest of a prominent opposition mayor ahead of elections. 🔹 The letter demands a response by May 22, including a full account of U.S. involvement, the legal justification for military action without congressional authorization, Leahy Law vetting documentation, and information on alleged links between Ecuadorian officials and criminal networks.

Democracy Now! reports on the detention of Salah Sarsour, a 53-year-old Palestinian American and the president of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee, who has been held in an ICE facility in Indiana since late March. Sarsour has been a lawful permanent resident of the U.S. for over 30 years. He is being accused by the U.S. government of failing to disclose a conviction by Israeli military authorities from when he was a teenager, a charge Sarsour disputes, stating he did not understand the proceedings conducted in Hebrew and was tortured while in custody.

The Trump administration appointed David Venturella, a former executive at GEO Group, to lead ICE. GEO Group is one of the largest private prison corporations in the country, and profits directly from ICE deportations and detentions. Drop Site's Julian Andreone asked lawmakers on Capitol Hill: is this a conflict of interest? Is it part of a broader pattern of corruption in the Trump administration? @JulianAndreone | @DropSiteNews
Drop Site@DropSiteNews

⛓️ Trump’s DHS has appointed former GEO Group executive David Venturella as acting ICE director, placing a longtime private prison industry figure in charge of the agency overseeing mass detentions and deportations. Venturella worked for private prison giant GEO Group from 2012 to 2023 as senior vice president of client relations and corporate development, then continued as a paid consultant through January 2025. The company currently holds more than $1 billion in ICE detention contracts, requiring a formal ethics waiver for Venturella to return to government service. He replaces outgoing acting ICE director Todd Lyons amid a broader DHS reshuffling after Trump fired former DHS Secretary Kristi Noem earlier this year. New DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin has reportedly pushed a lower-profile enforcement strategy aimed at keeping DHS “out of the headlines” while continuing aggressive deportation operations. Lyons oversaw a major hiring surge and sweeping raids that sparked growing public outrage, including after ICE agents fatally shot two U.S. citizens during operations in Minneapolis. Venturella is a longtime immigration enforcement official who previously ran ICE’s Secure Communities program under both Bush and Obama, a system that used local jail databases to identify undocumented immigrants for deportation. Border czar Tom Homan also previously worked for GEO Group. 🎥 More background from @Channel5iveNews Andrew Callaghan with Washington Post journalist Douglas Mcmillan

Awad Al-Shammari, an Iraqi shepherd, was found dead after reporting that he had seen an Israeli base. The base was secretly built inside of Iraq, a violation of the nations sovereignty & was reportedly used throughout the war on Iran to coordinate strikes. A shepherd responsible for reporting its existence has just been found dead. Israel is suspected of killing the Iraqi citizen on the nations own soil, an act of war against Iraq, in addition to the establishment of a base there.

This is the proven fraudster behind the new "Civil Commission" report on Oct 7 sexual violence which the entire US mainstream media is reporting without any critical detachment. During a Harvard presentation, Cochav Elkayam-Levy falsely presented an old photo of female Kurdish fighters killed in combat as images of Israeli women at the Nova music fest. When I exposed her, she simply blocked me and moved on without acknowledging her error. Then she proceeded to spin out more lies, such as that fetuses were cut from pregnant mothers by Hamas fighters. Israeli media has since exposed Elkayam-Levy as a grifter who deceived donors, lied about Hamas atrocities, and set up a fake "Civil Commission" which served as a corrupt fundraising mechanism for herself. Her new report is contradicted at numerous points by previous ones by the "Dinah Project" – another Israeli rape hoax PR org – as well as by the UN's Pramila Patten "fact-finding mission," and others which the Israeli gov't itself has promoted. In spite of her long and growing record of lying and corruption, the NYT, CNN, ABC and Washington Post are still taking Elkayam-Levy at her word.

The chair of Israel's investigative committee into rape on 10/7 by Hamas, @CochavElkayam, presents an old image of dead female Kurdish fighters as women sexually assaulted at the Nova music fest During a 11/12 talk for Harvard's Maimonides Society, Elkayam referred to "an image of a woman stripped from the waist down... photographed on the side of the Nova music festival" This image was originally published on the anonymous Hamas-Massacre website promoted by Israel's govt, but removed w/o acknowledgment after I demonstrated it was first published in 2022 and showed dead female Kurdish fighters Documentation here: x.com/maxblumenthal/…

⭕️ NEW: Israeli Residents Say IDF Deleted Parts of Their October 7 Security Footage — Israel Hayom Residents of Kibbutz Be’eri say a classified IDF reserve unit seized their security camera recordings on October 9, 2023, promised to return them intact, then broadcast some footage without consent — and returned the materials with portions allegedly deleted, Israel Hayom reported. The unit, composed of veterans from Sayeret Matkal, Shayetet 13, and other elite units, collected visual materials across Gaza border communities in the hours after October 7. Sources say the footage helped produce Israel’s internationally screened “atrocities film” and identify hostages. “The decisions to delete materials were made ‘under fluorescent lights’ — it’s a conscious decision, not one made in the chaos of combat,” one Be’eri source said. “The day will come when an investigative commission is established. The fewer witnesses there are, the less damage certain people in the military will sustain.” The IDF did not respond to the report.
