I want to clarify some of the takes I've been hearing about Abstract "gatekeeping" projects:
The Abstract portal is very intentionally a curated experience for users.
Our thesis has always been that traditional "free-for-all" ecosystem pages do not provide value to users. Having a huge list of all the projects deployed on the chain is overwhelming and leads to user churn. It is especially not newbie friendly.
Our portal home page shows 6 spotlight apps, 24 featured apps, and ~50 total other apps. These apps are chosen based off of a variety of factors including quality of user experience, app type, existing traction, team reputation, and design.
We have high standards for the quality of apps that we add to the Portal, meaning not every app deployed on Abstract is going to be added. This is just the reality of providing a highly curated experience for users. We tried to model our system off of the Apple app store - show a limited number of apps in spotlight and have a strict review process for other apps.
That being said, the Abstract chain itself is fully permissionless. You can deploy your apps here on your own just like you would any other chain. In the future, we will add a more self-service ecosystem list where anyone can add their app.
The best way to receive support from our team is to build on the chain and earn organic traction independently. Most of our largest apps were built by teams that committed to Abstract before even getting help from our team. Portal listings are a bit of a chicken-and-egg problem, but we will favor teams that have found existing PMF for listings.
If you have questions on the chain you can always reach out to @rajpatel @masoncags @gitmoney @dailax (general questions), @abrilzucchi (more AI-focused projects), or @0xbeans (defi-focused projects). Our collective DMs are usually always full, but we try our best to clear backlogs.

K-Pop on Abstract.
I am pleased to announce the partnership with @officialmodhaus, which I have been preparing for several months.
TL;DR on Modhaus:
→ An agency managing three K-Pop groups: @tripescosmos, @official_artms, and @idntt_cosmo.
→ These groups rank among the top in K-Pop, having won awards such as MAMA Best New Female Artist, Rookie Female Idol, and received nominations for Best K-pop Album, among others, since their debut in 2023.
→ tripleS: 3.7M followers across social media, 600M views on YouTube, and 250M total Spotify streams.
If I had to choose just one consumer app to bring to Korea, I have long believed it should be Modhaus. I am truly honored to have the opportunity to welcome Modhaus to Abstract through this partnership.
Until now, Modhaus has mainly focused on Asia and the Web2 industry. With this partnership with Abstract, we plan to accelerate Modhaus’s expansion beyond Asia into North America, mainstream media, and Web3. To achieve this, we will prioritize and actively support distribution and GTM strategies that have not existed on legacy or other current chains.
Several projects have successfully targeted Abstract's user pools, akin to those of the App Store, for their GTM efforts. Through this partnership, I am proud and honored to help introduce a leading Korean consumer app and its culture to a broader global audience.
While many projects have relied on meaningless meetups, opaque token distributions, or superficial partnerships with large corporations for news headlines as their GTM strategy, Abstract prioritizes collaboration with teams that create products which are both truly usable and culturally relevant. Leveraging Abstract’s strengths in crypto and its distribution rail, we aim to provide even greater synergy for meaningful users and partners.
You can expect to see these activities in action through Modhaus’s leading K-Pop idol groups, tripleS, ARTMS, and idntt.
Furthermore, while proven PMF in Web3 has so far centered on “money games,” we plan to onboard and showcase crypto-curious teams that are already achieving meaningful results and revenue in Web2.
