Since my father died, I’ve been reading a lot of books about grief, death, and the afterlife. I recently picked up the classic, Tibetan Book of the Dead. While reading it, I had this insight: Isn’t it amazing that the one religion that has outlined life after death in some of the most vivid detail is also one of the happiest, most joyful, most colourful religions out there? I’ve gone through this myself lately. Losing people you love, death, grief is painful for sure, it breaks your heart right open, but it also shakes you out of this complacency built on the illusion that anything in life is permanent. It makes you realize you're going to die one day, too. And so is everyone else you love. And it really could be any day. And that realization gives you a type of freedom that I cannot even describe. It’s a spiritual experience, for sure, thinking about death. It’s enlightening. That’s why the Tibetans are so joyful. They keep the reality of death present with them. We don’t become liberated by pretending we will live forever. Or trying to live forever, as so many transhumanists these days want to. We become free by realizing that I am going to die. And everyone I love is going to die. And what better reason to smile, to laugh, to cry, to live every day with a complete sense of freedom. That we don’t become liberated by avoiding death, shutting it out, seeing it as something to avoid or overcome…. We liberate ourselves by understanding death and embracing it completely.

balancer went through 10+ audits. the vault was audited 3 separate times by different firms still got hacked for $110M this space needs to accept that 'audited by X' means almost nothing. code is hard, defi is harder it is unfortunate but hope the team recovers
