Some ICM learnings from shipping @CTAfun 2 days ago: • Social networks will inevitably financialize engagement through crypto rails whether your like it or not, I expect big things from @XMoney coming soon, we’re just early • Large Twitter accounts (the supply side of social networks) don’t want to tag a handle to “farm” engagement, it feels lowbrow and gives off a negative aura • Meanwhile, the demand side is massive: hundreds of people jumped in immediately to compete in these social media battles Iteration thoughts: • Solve the supply side via plausible deniability: just like @virtuals_io made coins feel like they were created by AI, we can make engagement incentives feel indirect. Creators shouldn’t feel directly responsible for “engagement farming.” Example: @zora’s creator coins apply universally. We could even auto-spawn reply battles for the Top 100 CT accounts (maybe using @counterpartytv’s Top75 CT list). Same dynamic @BagsApp nailed: if a coin is created on your behalf, you can deny involvement but still benefit. • Make the demand side harder to win. If everyone earns too easily, sell pressure kills the coin and excitement dies. Like virality or betting on the right pump runner, the game should have few winners and high emotional payoff.
