@WestJet our flight 1884 to Ogg was just cancelled. As a longtime platinum member I must say this is horrible business. Putting a family of 5 with little kids out with no plan, no vouchers, on a bogus weather delay. No other flights to Hawaii are cancelled. You’ve lost the plot.

@MarkJCarney Canada is no longer a middle power. It simply isn't a credible player in geopolitics. Carney and Trudeau always longed for Canada to become more European, and now we are. No one in any position of authority in any conflict zone gives one wit about our opinion anymore.

The Liberals (democrats) leader, the Prime Minister resigned. They shut down government for 45 days to run a convention. Their party rules made it easy to sign up to vote online with no verification required but to actually vote you had to verify your ID through a portal which weeded out a bunch of people. It’s pretty similar story to Harris being the unelected candidate, hopefully turns out the same way in the election… until then we have a PM who has never been elected in a general election in Canada to any office who has passports to three countries and hasn’t lived here in ten years..

@AlexBerenson Hey Albertan here. Are there numbers being reported? I live in an urban city here in Alberta and anecdotally have noticed less open drug use. I’ve liked what I’m hearing from the Province here but haven’t found any real numbers to back it up??

@patrickbetdavid What’s the benefit breakdown? Why do you want us? Serious question. Canada would vote overwhelmingly blue like another California. This would tip congress and Presidential election very much in that direction.

If you are in LA and/or you lost a house you should be so upset. Bass embarrassed herself with Trump. 3 weeks later no plan, no clue, no guidance, all red tape. Good Luck - this is 5 year project

Lets talk about the LA Fire Cleanup and Demolition: First off, there is ZERO guidance issued on how this will be handled, by who, what licensing and certifications will be required or a timeline. Its been 3 weeks. The @CSLB hasnt even met yet to decide on expedited licensing or their position on license requirements. ok, Lets Go!

@ErikYesayan We are getting significant inquiries for modular homes already. I think adding modular ADUs will allow people to get back living in their properties very quickly.

Unlike Malibu, much of Palisades is exempt from coastal review or outside the coastal zone. If a property is in the "categorical exclusion" zones of Palisades, then you can build beyond the 110% of the existing house and still be exempt from coastal review. ZIMAS can tell you what property is under the categorical exclusion zone. Projects here just need to comply with the underlying zoning maximums and your project will be considered by-right. This combined with the Governor's new order N-9-25 exempting new ADUs from coastal review will help people rebuild quickly. ADUs can also get CofO before the main house gets it, which will also help people get temporary housing built quickly before the main house is completed.

This is the 2nd time a City Department has stated that their estimated turnaround for a clearance is 10+ weeks. That exceeds California's 60 day max allowed for ADU reviews, which means it'll be deemed approved. When we hit 60 days should we just build it?

@ExnerPirot @Oliver_Trpcic It might. She should offer the possible tax on export to the US IF northern gateway and energy east are approved immediately. That would rock the boat down south in a meaningful way.

I find this disappointing. 1. I think it’s a poor negotiation tactic. This could very well be a red line behind closed doors but not sure why you’d telegraph this to Team Trump now. They certainly haven’t taken anything off the table. 2. This could’ve been a moment where Alberta earned a lot of good will from the rest of Canada. Alberta could’ve had the moral high ground, and I think there’s value and power in the moral high ground, but now it’s lost.
Danielle Smith@ABDanielleSmith

I had a constructive discussion with my fellow Premiers on how best to deal with the threat of tariffs from the incoming U.S. administration. We agreed on several strategies and I look forward to continuing to work with them on this critical issue. However, federal government officials continue to publicly and privately float the idea of cutting off energy supply to the U.S. and imposing export tariffs on Alberta energy and other products to the United States. Until these threats cease, Alberta will not be able to fully support the federal government’s plan in dealing with the threatened tariffs. Alberta will simply not agree to export tariffs on our energy or other products, nor do we support a ban on exports of these same products. We will take whatever actions are needed to protect the livelihoods of Albertans from such destructive federal policies. We  also urge our entire nation to use this tariff threat as an opportunity to correct the misguided direction of this country and commence multiple infrastructure projects that focus on developing, upgrading and exporting our oil, gas and other natural resources, instead of effectively land locking them and keeping us fully reliant on one primary customer. I will be travelling to Washington D.C. this week for the inauguration, and will be returning to the United States several times over the coming months to meet with U.S. lawmakers and officials to continue to make the case against the imposition of tariffs on Canadian products and to strengthen and grow the trading relationship between our two great and independent nations.

@BillAckman @realDonaldTrump Canadian here. Serious question. Are there more illegal Immigrants or drugs crossing the Canada/US border going south than there are coming north? Considering how integrated our trade relationship is, this will wreak havoc on jobs on both sides of the border.

To be clear, according to Trump the 25% tariffs will not be implemented, or if implemented will be removed, once Mexico and Canada stop the flow of illegal immigrants and fentanyl into the U.S. In other words, @realDonaldTrump is going to use tariffs as a weapon to achieve economic and political outcomes which are in the best interest of America, fulfilling his America first policy. This is a great way for Trump to effect foreign policy changes even before he takes office.

Trump issues a threat to impose a 25% tariff on all imports from Canada and Mexico on the day he takes office.

What is the cheapest oceanfront home for sale in the entire state of California? And I don’t mean ocean view, or across the street from the ocean. I mean nothing out your back door but the beach and / or water. This might be an investigation for @rohindhar
