Auditware
Auditware@audit_wizard·
In 2022, we performed one of the first ever OpSec audits for a web3 company, pulling from over 7 years of experience securing the most sensitive and high value teams at companies like Apple and Amazon. We built a bespoke audit process from the ground up that covers all of the weak points that code and infra audits don't. Over the past 4 years we've reviewed OpSec for VCs, startups, mature companies, and teams ranging from 5 people to 50+. Including crypto-adjacent orgs with no on-chain presence, and crypto-native orgs with dozens of multi-sigs and hot wallets. We started with ad-hoc reviews tailored to each organization: Meet with the team to ask all the questions we could think of, build a threat model, and write a report highlighting risks and recommending mitigations. But we quickly learned that, while there are unique risks each team faces, much of the topics we covered were shared between orgs. We wrote guides for securing Discord servers, Twitter/X accounts, email servers, and developed both targeted and generalized trainings for whole teams. We also learned that these audits ran most smoothly with some sort of structure in place to define what each meeting should cover, who we needed to talk to in the org, and when we knew we were done. And when we spoke about OpSec to teams they didn't have a solid understanding of what it even meant or what the scope included. We built a very detailed internal process and set of resources outlining all of this. Since then, we've taken that internal playbook and refined it across multiple audits, each with their own unique risks and challenges. But this was something we felt we could not keep to ourselves. Last year, we converted that playbook into a comprehensive set of requirements, guides, and tools - all open source and free for anyone to use. We called it the Web3 OpSec Standard (W3OS). What sets W3OS apart from other OpSec resources is that it aggregates a comprehensive set of guidance into one place; presents everything as actionable checklists; and provides concrete guides for configuring platforms, setting up secure development environments, and training teams to stay secure. This year, we've also started building tools to support these guides and requirements and enable teams to take their OpSec seriously without having to build complex monitoring tools themselves. Auditware has been doing OpSec audits for over 10 years, we wrote the book on web3 OpSec, and we continue to build open source public goods for tackling OpSec issues because we truly believe that our industry cannot thrive without preventing the many, easily preventable security failures we have seen over the years. We highly encourage everyone to put these resources to good use and tighten up your OpSec before you have an incident! The best way to get started with this is making an account on our free OpSec collaboration platform platform, Sentry, which allows you to navigate W3OS requirements and guides with ease, track tasks across your team, and set up monitoring tools: sentry.auditware.io

We’ll be in the United States Senate this Thursday for the CLARITY Act markup. The CLARITY Act creates a clear federal framework for digital assets, strengthens consumer protections, and opens the door for trillions of dollars of institutional capital to participate in the digital asset economy under clear rules. Let’s get it done 🦾🇺🇸

Perps solved directional leverage, and options solve volatility pricing, structured yield, and treasury management. The goal is that users will not have to touch options directly. They’ll interact with vaults and automated strategies while options quietly become infrastructure underneath the system.
Kaff 📊@Kaffchad

► Onchain Options: The Next Phase of Crypto Leverage Perp DEX already proved there’s massive demand for onchain leverage. Ppl don’t mind trading onchain anymore if liquidity is deep enough and execution doesn’t feel terrible. Next catalyst I’m watching now isn’t just new markets or #RWA perps. I’ve seen the pattern in TradFi and starting to think the next phase probably onchain options growth. Because options never scale first. In every market it usually goes spot → futures/perps → options → structured products → volatility products. Markets need liquid underlyings before dealers can hedge gamma properly. Deep collateral before portfolio margin works. Enough real inventory sitting in the system before ppl even care about convex hedging. That’s probably why options lagged crypto for so long. – Deribit owns like ~78% of global crypto options flow – BTC options OI recently floating around $30B+ with peaks above $50B last year – $410.36M onchain options notional volume in the last 7d – still small compared to perp DEX Why I think the time for options to shine might happen this year: – ETF ecosystem getting massive with IBIT options exploding – treasury companies holding huge BTC inventory – onchain perps already mature enough to hedge options books – DeFi infra much better now Institutions don’t stop at directional leverage forever. Eventually they need puts, collars, covered calls, inventory hedging, vol trades, structured yield products. Onchain options market still looks early honestly. Yet the first credible version is being built: – @derive_xyz: ~$132M TVL, 16B+ cumulative options notional, cross-margin system, RFQ support, integrated perps. Closest thing to a real onchain Deribit attempt so far. – @ryskfinance: ~$55M TVL, $936M+ cumulative options notional, RFQ-based pricing with instant upfront premium payout, no liquidations. Building on HyperEVM as a structured yield layer. – @HyperliquidX: HIP-4 added outcome contracts. Not just opening prediction markets but also pushing toward options-like derivatives. – @aevoxyz: unified account, CLOB design, onchain settlement, $39B cumulative notional volume. But the market treating it more as a perp + prelaunch venue. – @paradex: perpetual options with no expiry, no liquidation risk for buyers, pay funding instead of upfront premium, unified margin across perps and spot. Top 4 by notional volume doing $21.66M. Most users probably never directly trade options anyway. They’ll just deposit into yield vaults, principal protected products, enhanced BTC yield, auto-hedged stable strategies while options quietly sit underneath as invisible infrastructure. Same way most TradFi users never touch SPX options manually while half the system indirectly depends on vol markets. Again, onchain options might be the next real market structure expansion after perps.

Everyone is going to read this as a CRCL story. The bigger derivative trade is $AERO @AerodromeFi is launching on Arc alongside its Ethereum mainnet expansion. ➥ @arc has a built-in institutional RFQ system for stablecoin FX, USDC native gas and EURC and USYC as day one assets ➥ FX is one of the four pillars Circle is explicitly building Arc for The offchain FX market does ~$10T a day. Even 0.01% landing on Arc over the next two years more than 2x Aero's current fee run-rate by itself. It already extracts $7.9M in monthly fees from $13B of Base volume, with revenue driven by trading activity. That fee model is built for high-volume, low-TVL flow, the exact profile of institutional FX. Aero will be the DEX layer on that rail.

TradFi is now doing VC-style deals but taking protocol tokens/governance stakes instead of (just) equity. See: • Apollo → up to ~9% of ethereum:0x58d97b57bb95320f9a05dc918aef65434969c2b2 over 4 years • BlackRock → bought ethereum:0x1f9840a85d5af5bf1d1762f925bdaddc4201f984 to integrate BUIDL on Uniswap • Citadel + ARK → strategic ethereum:0x6985884c4392d348587b19cb9eaaf157f13271cd positions Institutions embedding directly into onchain infra.

$AERO chart looks primed with major catalysts on the way - CEX listed coins are PUMPING, $AERO has been the industry leader in serving this trading volume outside of CEX - CLARITY Act voting begins this upcoming week and we’ve never had a more crypto administration, notice that everyone from @brian_armstrong @jessepollak and congressmen are broadcasting this across all channels - July Mainnet Launch (mainnet volume is back!) - Base TGE (no timeline, but where do you think most of that liquidity will live and be traded on?)
