@DanielLurie @sbuss Aren’t developers NOT building bc it’s too expensive per unit to build in SF? Not sure two extra floors will move the needle enough.

Across our city, families are struggling to pay rent or hoping for an opportunity to buy a home where they can raise their kids. As elected leaders, we must do everything we can to help them, and the Board of Supervisors has taken an important step to do that today. Our Family Zoning plan will allow us to build more homes so that kids growing up here will one day be able to raise their own families in San Francisco. This city’s affordability crisis has left too many young people, workers, and seniors unsure if they’ll be able to stay in the place they love. With this plan, we will add affordable housing, support small businesses, and protect the character of the neighborhoods that make San Francisco so special. San Franciscans should decide what gets built in San Francisco—I don’t want to hand control to Sacramento, and the supervisors made it clear today that they agree. With today’s vote to advance the Family Zoning plan, we’re keeping control of what gets built in our city. It’s a testament to our partnership with Board President Rafael Mandelman and Supervisors Danny Sauter, Bilal Mahmood, Matt Dorsey, Stephen Sherrill, and Alan Wong, as well as the hard work of Land Use and Transportation Committee Chair Myrna Melgar. It also speaks to the broad support this plan has received from public safety leaders, small business owners, labor unions, and affordable housing builders. My administration will continue to work across city departments, with the Board of Supervisors, and alongside community partners to support families and workers, strengthen small businesses, and stand up for our neighborhoods.

Ultra processed foods are terrible but I want my City Attorney focusing on the following: 1. Assisting the DA, DEA, any law enforcement agencies in keeping the city safe 2. Investigating fraud in city government and figuring out why the city budget is so high 3. Suing cities that send their homeless populations to SF

New: San Francisco today will sue 10 of the biggest manufacturers of ultraprocessed food, arguing the companies knew their products were making people sick but sold them anyway. The fare makes up 70% of the country’s food supply. nytimes.com/2025/12/02/us/…

@hknightsf Instead of suing, why not fight to ensure food stamps can’t be used for soda, candy and chips, etc?

San Francisco and LA keep putting shelters and rehabs in neighborhoods where people live and work. We should stop doing this and use cheap land outside of our downtown cores. 🧵

Has anyone in San Francisco done a study to see if the van ness bus lane has achieved the targeted goal? How accurate were projections, how much has it sped up bus transit down the corridor? Was it worth it given the costs (financial costs, increased congestion to cars, fewer parking and the consequential economic impact this has on small businesses)

@GovPressOffice A lot of businesses are choosing to leave California. Are you going to talk shit about all of them or make your state more business friendly? You have a big mouth for someone who created a massive amount of debt in a state that had a surplus.

@GovPressOffice I’m a Californian and I’d like to see my governor welcome stores (and their jobs, and their tax revenue) not shun them. Newsom is a clown

No curb lane for commercial deliveries, parking, uber, recology etc on Van Ness is a major major major fail. Traffic is backed up for blocks during rush-hour.

The next 12 months are going to be critical for the city. We're at a crossroads. The vibes are better, but the core problem remains. Our economic engine must be re-started. Without it, nothing else works.

Market street is a symptom of a larger problem. Downtown is 40% empty and it has been for the past five years! Along with public safety, this must be the #1 priority for all leadership in San Francisco! 🧵

Our city leadership seems unwilling to learn. Success is not achieved by making competitors or alternatives worse. It’s by making your core product and service better.

30 of those arrested were drug dealers. This is a big part of why London Breed lost, why the progressives list political power, and why now, San Francisco, will start its recovery.

Our so-called “leaders” in Sacramento are at it again. This time they want to limit a victims’ right to self defense. Assembly Bill 1333 would make it a lot more difficult for victims of crime to claim self defense. It eliminates the use of self defense of the home or property. It also adds a requirement that you must retreat before using self defense if it’s safe to do so. Basically, if you are outside your home and you are being robbed, raped, car jacked, etc., and the criminal is using deadly force, if you are the victim, you would now have to retreat if safe to do so, instead of using deadly force to defend yourself. We are finally moving on from Chesa Boudin, George Gascón and Pam Price. Crime is still a major problem in CA. Now, Sacramento wants to threaten to charge victims of crime with murder if they use self defense in certain situations? Another insane bill that helps the criminal and hurts the rest of us. Call your Assembly member and tell them to vote No on AB1333. And please start voting for actual normal and reasonable people who really want you to be safe.

BREAKING #Sacramento / #California A new bill introduced in the California Legislature by @RickChavezZbur aims to make changes to the Homicide law in in the state. Among the changes being proposed: “This bill would eliminate certain circumstances under which homicide is justifiable, including, among others, in defense of a habitation or property.” State lawmakers want it to be a crime if you kill someone while defending your property. I urge you all to call your state level representative and demand answers to this nonsense and attempt to strip law abiding Californians of their rights. @BillMelugin_ @Elex_Michaelson @nicksortor leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billText…
