Are there any Airbnb alternatives you use?
sandra djajic@TakoTreba

On Sunday evening, I had the worst experience I’ve ever had with @Airbnb. A few hours before arriving in Hamburg for OMR, a conference that brings more than 70,000 people to the city, my booking was suddenly cancelled. I immediately contacted customer support, expecting them to help me find another place. Instead, they told me they couldn’t assist because “Airbnb didn’t cancel your booking, the host did.” Excuse me? This happened around 11 PM. I spent the entire night on calls with customer support and did not sleep at all. At around 1 AM, things got even worse. I received a message saying I was no longer allowed to make bookings on Airbnb because my account had been flagged as potentially dangerous. I honestly couldn’t believe what was happening. I was traveling with my three-month-old baby. I explained that multiple times. It made no difference. No meaningful help. No travel credits. My account was blocked. And by the time I arrived in Hamburg, I had to scramble to find a hotel on my own. The ironic part? There was no AI involved in this experience. Only humans following scripts and passing me from one person to another. And, Brian, I genuinely wish I had been dealing with AI instead. It would have been faster, more logical, and probably far more empathetic than the people I spoke with that night. What shocked me most was realizing how few real alternatives there are to Airbnb. At midnight I was completely on my own trying to solve a problem that should never have happened in the first place. Worst customer experience I’ve had in years.

This is why I do bloodwork multiple times a year. In less than a year, my Triglycerides and Vitamin D levels have dropped from healthy to concerning levels. All because I let my diet slip and negated sunlight exposure during the nyc winter. Time to get healthy again. Btw, I use @superpower for these tests (I’m also an investor)

In the age of AI, what is the role of patents? None. First in human and to market is what matters. I deliberately posted the full OX2R-004 sequence (KGDRYGVAYEHGGAQPFK) + entire Pre-IND computational report. That thread now counts as public enabling disclosure. In the US we (a collectively owned agentic system) still have the 1-year grace period. Everywhere else absolute novelty applies, meaning any company or researcher now has full commercial rights to the exact linear peptide. Who’s going to run the first wet-lab validation? That’s where the real IP = the business velocity powered by open data and tokens comes into play. bio/acc

🧵 Over 24 hours, our scientific team and AI scientist infrastructure developed a novel peptide agonist to potentially treat ADHD. Below is our paper for a pre-IND computational feasibility assessment for OX2R-004: an 18-residue peptide agonist designed as a selective OX2R agonist for ADHD. Why this matters? No approved orexin agonists exist anywhere. All marketed orexin drugs are dual OX1R/OX2R antagonists for insomnia. Clinical-stage ones are small molecules for narcolepsy only. We did this with @peptai_ a novel full 8-gate computational pipeline in one shot developed by @BioProtocol community 👇

Ways to use money to make your life easier: here is a list of things you can pay for to make your life A LITTLE more convenient (with prices) Laundry service- Fluff and fold. someone will come pick up your laundry, do it, and bring it back folded. Roughly $150 a week Meal service- Skip door dash and uber eats. Meal plan delivery. 10-12 meals, set to your macros. about $10 a meal, so $150-$180 all in At home haircut- hate waiting and scheduling? local barbers will come to you, cut your hair outside for $100 + tip. Weekly house cleaners- dont do bi weekly. who are you fooling? $200 bucks every week. Tesla- Car drives itself. I didnt realize how much anger I had in traffic. now I just chill and look outside. $500 bucks a month Quest blood tests- I dont want to die. Doctors do not care about a healthy 30 year old. Every quarter, I get a blood test. $300 a pop. MRI- Same as above. $2000 once a year to guarantee you dont have a brain tumor. Wholefoods delivery- Included in amazon prime. save yourself the trip to the grocery store and there is NO MARK UP (unlike instacart) Layflat airplane seats- Most domestic first class is trash. but if you have to fly cross country or intl, lay flat only. $2,500 minimum now, more like $4,000 Youtube premium- A no brainer for under $20 a month. No ads and more money in your fav creators pocket Mobile car wash- prob not really worth it. but for $200 bucks someone will come to your house and detail your car. --- all this stuff is extra. none of it will make you happier. but if you NEED more time and have extra money, good starting list

So ridiculous, yall must know. For the last month I’ve been using Empower ride hailing app in NYC. (They charge drivers a monthly fee instead of taking 20%, I believe). Cars always available. And always much, much cheaper than Uber. Tonight was particularly insane. LaGuardia airport to home: - Uber: $125 (criminal) - Empower: $30 IDK guys it feels like $5 Via days. Don’t know which good soldier built this app, or why. But it feels like they’ve punched a hole in the absurd NYC ride hailing pricing schemes that we all had come to just accept.

@bran_don_gell @brian_lovin I think the real value in these types of sessions (I ran so many Salesforce on Salesforce sessions) comes from real honesty around problems companies have to solve for when building tools to run their own business. As someone called out in the replies here, hearing how you think about when you build agents in Notion vs. in other tools like plus one would be really helpful and interesting. I would love to see how Every (and Notion) structures its databases and workspace to empower agents and what learnings you guys have come across. What data do you explicitly keep out of Notion? Looking forward to Friday!

we run all of @every on @NotionHQ one of the big reasons we love notion is notion agents. they run 24/7 in the background to help us: - prioritize work - plan out our strategy - organize knowledge - make sure everyone is on the same page on Friday we're doing a Custom Agents Camp with @BrianLovin going deep on these workflows you should come: every.to/events/notion-…

I'm reading the NYC 2027 budget, and this document is *cooked*! It assumes a 9.5% property tax hike, dropping the deficit by $6B - but there is no way that will happen. It also shows debt going up 34% - from $8.5B to $12.3B annually. Is NYC trying to go bankrupt?

@michelletandler I would be in favor of increasing the property tax drastically on people with 2nd homes/pied-a-terres in the city

Whoever wrote this document is going to have to redo the entire thing bc there is no way city council will pass that property tax hike. NYC leadership is about to get a lesson in economics and fiscal policy!

@_clem Interesting idea. I think we're so nascent in our workspace setup that I would love for Notion AI to have context about our business and help be more prescriptive about how we should be setting up our workspace. We've been using Notion, I'm sure just not optimimally.

@kaminskymethod If you haven't already done this, one thing that might be worthwhile is to use a really long-running agent to gather information about the structure of your entire workspace and then generate a skill based on that. You could use a scheduled task after that to keep it up to date.
