My planter monitor shows excessive amounts of doubles but only while planting one direction. I have a bad tailwind when it shows the issue. Is it dirt being blow by the sensor in the seedtube?

@CBKimbrell Right or wrong locked some HR calves in for next winter today. I’d rather miss the top by a little bit than miss this opportunity. And this is my floor if this thing keeps running and stays there I’ll gladly pay my LRP premium.

I think 3.70 is plenty for my calf marketing this fall, but I sure don’t like stepping out in front of a train expecting it to reverse.

Fifteen years ago pictures were taken on potatoes but my wife and I still said I Do! Was a cold and snowy day but a great one nonetheless!

@mattygilbert I hope you’re right. Sounds like some more clipper type systems this week yet but hoping after those the snow machine will go on vacation.

Never had the blower on at all last winter. Don’t think I used it much winter of 24 either. Blade and blower installed. Now we can be finished with winter.

This might be petty, but if I back into an approach so you can drive your combine down the road with a 40’ head on it, the very least you could do is give a friendly ‘thank you’ wave when you go by. #harvestrants

@ChetEdinger Hard to park the combine when stuffs ready to go but we did the same thing. Not worth it and we didn’t want to be that guy that lights up the countryside. Tomorrow will be a better day

We decided to shut down soybean harvest this afternoon. Hot, windy, & low humidity made for a very high fire risk. We will start back up tomorrow with cooler temps and higher humidity.

@silagechopper Have some beans ready to go. Spent the day getting harvest equipment ready slowly so we weren’t tempted to try it only to start a dumb fire. Dads all geared up to start and I hit him with the I think we’ll wean calves tomorrow.

I think sometimes we just jam another silage pile in here for something to do. Sure beats sitting in line to unload a soybean though…

@dvanklomp I would be your dad in this situation. I’d much rather be putting up feed or trucking grain than running the combine lol. But maybe that’s bc I get forced to run the combine every fall and manage the 3 ring circus

Soybeans are ready and getting too dry fast Dad: I’m gonna go bale hay, I’ll see you later.

@dvanklomp Spend about 10-11k a year hiring it done but that’s a check that never bothers me to write.

Have to run a few bales through our antique tub grinder today to tie us over til the grinder can get here and I’m quickly reminded why the best money I spend every year is hiring this done.

Best 3rd cutting I’ve ever had. Bigger challenge will be getting it put up right.

The only thing higher than the dew point at dakotafest today was the number of hoots. South African number was lower than the day I went last year. Or maybe they’re blending in more.

@derek_chase 650/46 years and 620/38 fronts! He had 28 fronts previously but with our new suspension and it being more robust, his smaller rim wouldn’t clear the strut and hydraulics on the bracket.

A far and few between non row crop guy for me, with a far and few between float set up for me. Looks bad ass after all this rain😎😎

@harleylama @koinzangreg Developed some replacement heifers for a buddies dad from western SD this winter. He picked it them up Saturday and saw how much feed we had sitting around yet. He said how many can you feed bc if things don’t change moisture wise I’m pretty sure I can fill you up next fall

@koinzangreg I’ve had western SoDak ranchers call me looking for anyone with feed (pasture or dry lot) to summer some of their pairs

Only people who think a bottle calf is worth a thousand would turn out to grass right now Nebraska is in a whole lot of trouble and the mkt has put the blinders on some real good hands #mkttwit
