The PHF team enjoyed a superb evening with @runway25shop at the American MiG Pilot event. An utterly fascinating evening with a talk by Rob “Z-Man” Zettel and the use of MiG aircraft in the USAF 🇺🇸

🇬🇧🇵🇱Hawker Hurricane Flight - Taking Their Memory Home🇵🇱🇬🇧 Duxford to Dęblin Fundraising – help us make history! This August, the Polish Heritage Flight is planning to fly our Hawker Hurricane from Duxford, UK to Poland to honour the Polish People and ALL those who fought in the Second World War. Every donation helps make the journey possible. But this isn’t simply a flight, we are flying in memory of all those who never got to return home to Poland. Your name and personal message will be handwritten by the pilot into the official Pilot’s Log Book that flies in the cockpit all the way to Poland! As the flight is a remembrance of ALL those who served, your message does not have to be specific to Poland or the Polish Air Force. ALL dedications are welcome 🙏 The Book will be presented to the Polish Air Force - A symbol of our Gratitude & Remembrance.📖 Support the flight and their memory by visiting the link in the comments below. 👇 Thank you! 🙏 #DuxfordToDeblin #PolishHeritageFlight #Hurricane #ww2 #duxford #poland

Stringbags For Finley! 💚 Listeners of the brilliant We Have Ways of Making You Talk World War Two podcast, hosted by Al Murray and James Holland, will have been inspired by recent episodes exploring the Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm. Stories of the daring Taranto Raid, the hunt to sink the German battleship Bismarck, and the dramatic Channel Dash have reminded audiences just how remarkable the Royal Navy & the Fleet Air Arm truly is. They also highlight one important fact: the Fairey Swordfish & its Crews - affectionately nicknamed the “Stringbag” - was far more than an antiquated biplane. It was a formidable and highly effective aircraft. Inspired by these stories, Wisdom Art Prints has released a very special limited art print featuring Fairey Swordfish L9726 of 818 Naval Air Squadron during the attack on the German battleship Bismarck on 27 May 1941. (Incidentally, the term “pocket battleship” was used by the British to describe Germany’s Deutschland-class warships—smaller than traditional battleships but heavily armed for their size.) In partnership with We Have Ways ‘Duxford Big Wing’ Independent Company, The Polish Heritage Flight, and Wisdom Art Prints, we are delighted to announce that for every Swordfish print ordered, a donation will be made to Finley’s Touch between now and the We Have Ways Fest, taking place at Blackpit Brewery, Northamptonshire from 11th –13th September 2026. Finley’s Touch is a charity founded by the family of Finley Relf, who bravely battled cancer. The organisation supports children diagnosed with cancer and their families by providing financial assistance, hospital survival bags, and National Trust memberships. Above all, Finley’s Touch aims to spread fun, happiness, and hope to children facing the toughest of battles, while raising awareness of childhood cancer and delivering practical help to families in need. This special print celebrates courage, resilience, and community—both in the skies over the Atlantic in 1941, and in the lives of children fighting their own battles today. For Finley.💚 wisdomartprints.co.uk/pages/aviation… @FinleysTouch @WHW_CambridgeIC @WisdomArtPrints #FaireySwordfish #Swordfish #FAA #Bismarck #artprints #navalairsquadron #stringbag

@MBrundleF1 Love Martins commentary - he’s really considerate in his explanations to those with varied degrees of knowledge of the sport. Jenson does an ace job too.

Utter clickbait nonsense Margaret, don’t be concerned. I’ve done 16 races per year for a good while now and continue to do so. In fact with the cancellations I am at 15 of the remaining 19 races this season, subject to world events of course, as always.
Margaret Sheldon@Sheldon1Maggie

Nooooo! I love @MBrundleF1’s commentary. I understand though as he needs to put him and his family first. Thankfully I love listening to @JensonButton’s insight too.

Tamiya F4F and Airfix PRXIX in 1:48. I tried to give them a faded ‘in service’ look with an airbrush, which hasn’t entirely worked, but they look like a Wildcat and a Spitfire. So I’m happy.

🩵 What a really fitting #Spitfire90 commemoration being carried out around the country this week. 🇬🇧 Amazing work by: @spitfiresdotcom @RAFBBMF @BBMF_Ernie93 @marklongtrust @DarrenHarbar The Two-Seat Spitfire Page We think the colour scheme on BS410 looks stunning and equally proud that this Spitfire served with 315 ‘Deblin’ Squadron🇵🇱 Built at Chattis Hill and first flown on 28 October 1942, it was allocated to 315 Squadron at RAF Northolt on 6 November 1942. It initially carried codes PK-E, changed to PK-A by mid-April 1943. The aircraft flew 35 operational sorties with the squadron, including Ramrods, Rodeos, Circus operations, and escort missions over occupied Europe. On 13 May 1943, during a Ramrod operation in the Amiens area, BS410 was damaged by enemy fire while flown by F/O Piotr Kuryłłowicz. He bailed out and became a prisoner of war; the Spitfire crashed in a marsh near Occoches, France. Recovered in 2005, the wreckage was restored over 15 years by Martin Phillips and converted to a two-seat Tr.9 configuration. It returned to flight in April 2022 and is now operated by Spitfires.com for passenger experiences and training. In 2026, to mark the 90th anniversary of the Spitfire’s first flight, BS410 is painted in the light blue colours of prototype K5054 and is undertaking a special nine-flight tour of the UK 90 Years on from the first flight of the ‘Supermarine Type 300’ this is a fine tribute to RJ Mitchell and his team of incredible Designers, Engineers, Men & Women who created what became……. The Spitfire 🩵

Plastic Modelling is more than just Glue, Paint & Carpet Monsters! We are very fortunate to have built up a fascinating collection of models donated to us which help us tell the stories of the Crews, Squadrons & Types that we can only ever dream of operating. But it goes far beyond this. Research has proven that Plastic Modelling promotes stress reduction and mindfulness by inducing a calming “flow” state through focused, precise tasks like trimming, sanding, and painting, which helps shift attention away from daily worries and improves mood while lowering anxiety. The activity enhances concentration, problem-solving, and cognitive skills, including spatial reasoning and fine motor coordination, potentially supporting brain health and slowing cognitive decline, especially in older adults. Creativity is stimulated through customisation and weathering techniques, leading to a strong sense of accomplishment that boosts self-esteem and releases dopamine. It may also reduce the risk of depression by providing emotional regulation and a sense of purpose. Therapeutically, it has been used to aid veterans’ mental health and recovery from trauma or injuries, while social aspects like joining clubs foster connections, a sense of community and combat isolation. Plastic modelling serves as an accessible, enjoyable way to support mental, emotional, and cognitive wellbeing. Not least - every single model is a tribute to those it represents. Out thanks very much to Adam from the de Havilland Aircraft Museum who very kindly gifted us this rather special Vickers Wellington of 301 "Land of Pomerania" Squadron. Thank you Adam! 🇬🇧🇵🇱 Please do share what’s currently on your work bench or your finished builds with us in the comments below 👇 (Any and All topics!) @Airfix @DarmahFurcat @RedFiveModels @almurray @MrJamesMay
