Basically Govt needs to rethink how to make Gold less attractive for Indians
What all can they do ?
1. Increase Gold Price - already done
2. Reduce Taxation on equity - make it more attractive ?
3. Attract FII into equities giving tax sops?
4. Gold Controls - Can be seen as regressive
5. Take one time currency hit, increase rates and attract FDI?
6. Attract NRI bond money
7. Announce Gold Amnesty Monetization Scheme like done in 90s

@ProfVemsani very stupid idea. if you abolish NEET and take on the basis of class 12 marks, then millions of students will be there with 100% class 12 marks. State boards will just start awarding 100% to their students!

Why? He thinks Tamils cannot compete with the rest of India? Or he thinks they shouldn’t go out of state for education? There should be a national benchmark exam so the mobility and competency of education is ensured. Here in the US all high school students take ACT/SAT. In OHIO all schools administer ACT to all graduating seniors free of cost. It is important to ensure quality higher education.

Still for every sportsperson discipline is key. I don't like to have exceptions. Coaches at the very top do not entertain any exceptions. You cannot play 10 vs 11 against top teams.

@Tushar15 How would cutting consumption help OMCs with their losses? They will still be losing same money per liter sold isn't it? Or probably even more if consumption goes down too much as there are always some fixed costs that don't go down proportionately like salaries.

The fuel price rise is an incomplete solution. Spot prices are exceeding $140/barrel right now, and even with the excise duty cuts, OMCs are losing Rs. 18 per litre on petrol and Rs. 35 on diesel. GOI won't go for double-digit inflation to help OMCs.

In his first speech as Tamil Nadu chief minister, Vijay said that he grew up in poverty, and that he even knows what hunger is. It's bullshit because he was my classmate in the third standard in Loyola School. His father was a filmmaker who set up his son for a career in films. It is possible that like most filmmakers his father may have had periods of financial strife but that's not the same as Tamil-grade poverty. A lot of affluent boys confuse being broke with poverty. Two very different things.
