I have never understood the Eastern and Northern European mindset of going on vacation during summer.
When your city is 75 degrees and beautiful and everything is available, you go to Greece and pay $300 a day to turn yourself into a lobster.
Instead of just... going in November. You know, when your city is 40 and dreary and grey with 4 hours of "sun "a day.
And Greece is 75 and you get a private beach.
Make it make sense.

Ich habe bei TEDx Salzburg über Bitcoin gesprochen.

All of the my 2800 $TSLA shares are covered with covered calls and because of the Wednesday-Friday 7% run up in share price, they are down about 100%. I'm not concerned and here's why.
Wednesday Morning $TSLA opened at $386. I decided to get cute and sell 28 CCs expiring that day at $407.5. I've been experimenting with the new intra-week expiration dates that the CBOE put into affect a few months back. By mid-afternoon I was in the money.
What I've learned over time, particularly with $TSLA, is that you can almost always roll out of covered call losses. So instead of letting my shares get taken away, I rolled my covered calls to June 18 (45ish DTE) at $450 strikes.
Thankfully I did because $TSLA continued to run and by Friday we were sitting at $428 a share. Now, what do I do from here?
Well if we continue to run, I'll roll out again before I get ITM. Eventually $TSLA will stop running, my CCs will decay away and I'll profit.
If $TSLA does not stop running, someone is going to take assignment of my shares in the $500s or $600s and I'll keep the premium and share appreciation up to the top.
I hope to market forces me to continue rolling up and out.🤞

The bottom line:
covered calls are great when the stock doesn't go up.
When it rallies, they absolutely suck.
Covered Calls aren't a "Good" or "Bad" idea.
Correctly predicting what the stock does is the best idea.
I sell covered calls only tactically when I think it's appropriate, and I am willing to pull the plug at any moment - same as with short puts.
It works like a charm but requires real work and attention.

Literally no one cares about a “loss” at this point. Most people thought it was a dumb idea in the first place and the sooner you end a dumb idea, the more credit you get.
Escalating would literally mean the end for the economy, the GOP, JD Vance and all kind of other things, including Trumps legacy - and nearly everyone knows that at this point.
That’s why I have confidence this is over - it would be just too suicidal to continue and also - they had now time to snap out of it

I think Hormuz has broken Trump. We always say he's inconsistent and changes his mind. But this is different. I don't think he's ever been this all over the place on an issue in such a short period of time. "OPEN HORMUZ OR YOUR CIVILIZATION DIES." "We don't need Hormuz, it's Europe's problem." "Oh actually, we're probably going to have a deal with the Iranians to run it together." "It's great Hormuz is not open, we get to sell more oil!" "Actually, Hormuz is open! The media is lying again." When he's been inconsistent before, usually he cycles through different positions, at least showing some consistency for a short period of time. Here he's constantly saying contradictory things in the same breath, over and over again. I think he realizes he's stuck. He can let Iran have Hormuz and say it doesn't matter or lie about what happened. MAGA idiots may believe him, but he'll be a laughing stock to everyone else. Or he can pivot back to "DESTROY THEIR CIVILIZATION," send oil to $150, and hope it works. Either 1) more war, which wrecks the economy going into the midterms, or 2) total loss, and maybe the economy recovers if Iran allows enough traffic through, but this goes along with what is probably the worst strategic defeat in American history. Just terrible options all around.
