Temperatures will drop significantly tonight as a cold front exits the region. Lows will range from the 20s over the Alleghenies to the mid-30s towards the bay. Rain showers will start to dissipate tonight; skies should clear tomorrow. #MDwx #VAwx #WVwx #DCwx

Ground stops that were put in place at the airports in our region after an issue at an air traffic facility in Fauquier Co have been lifted, but the impact is still a mess. I’m at DCA, many delayed passengers are just sitting around, almost every flight either delayed or canceled

Venus is the only planet in our solar system where a day is longer than a year. ⏳ Here’s how strange it gets: 1️⃣ Day Length: One full rotation takes about 243 Earth days 2️⃣ Year Length: One orbit around the Sun takes 225 Earth days 3️⃣ Sunrise to Sunset: A full day-night cycle lasts around 117 Earth days 🌀 Venus also spins in retrograde rotation, meaning it rotates backward—so the Sun rises in the west and sets in the east. 🌫️ This extremely slow and unusual rotation is likely influenced by its thick, turbulent atmosphere.

@tomroussey7news I arrived in DC in 1973 and watched all the construction going on in the city. There were a lot of traffic detours, but I don't remember being frustrated by them.

At the time, only the Red Line existed and you could only ride between Rhode Island Ave. & Farragut North. There were only 5 stations on day one - Gallery Place didn’t open until December 1966 because its elevators weren’t finished & NoMa came many years later. #wmata

Metrorail turns 50 years old today! #wmata shared these pics from March 27, 1976 with me. You can see the line to get in the Rhode Island Ave Station. I talked to a man who actually rode that first day & remembers the lines being massive & everyone being so excited to ride.

Having #lungcancer is a risk factor with Covid. After a few days of cold symptoms, decided to test last night. With low fever, no shortness of breath, doc says it's prob not worth it to take Paxlovid. I'll nap it off, watch for worsening of symptoms. Glad I'm up to date on vax.

Governor Newsom Press Office
Governor Newsom Press Office@GovPressOffice·
You are a disgrace. You attack the free press. You go after outlets reporting facts you don’t like — while boosting those pushing fiction. (Hi, Fox.) You greenlight awful deals like Nexstar/Tegna — creating the largest broadcast giant in the country, consolidating conservative media power and controlling news for up to 80% of U.S. households. Brendan Carr: You're not a watchdog. You're a thin-skinned lapdog.
Brendan Carr@BrendanCarrFCC

Gavin Newsom isn’t standing up to me or for any legitimate interest. He’s simply doing the bidding of his liberal Hollywood donors—the billionaires in media who have no interest in the FCC holding them accountable to their statutory public interest obligations. They want free rein to distort the news, broadcast hoaxes, and serve their own narrow interests and in doing so force their radical worldview on Americans without any regard to their broadcast license obligations. Not anymore.

The Georgia Senate took a random bill in its final stages, changed all of its content to become something completely different: an immediate and unilateral change to the state’s time zone. And they did it without changing the bill’s title. HB 154 is listed on all webpages and print materials as “Emergency medical services; designate ambulance services as an essential service”. legis.ga.gov/legislation/69… Changing everything except the bill title lets them skip the required two public hearings and three days of floor readings, because it already passed hearings and readings—when it was about ambulances. Changing everything but the title also lets them keep most members of the public, most legislative staffers, and most legislators in the dark, until the moment the bill might be called to the floor. That way, they don’t hear from constituents, outside experts, or even their own analysts. All they might hear would be what the bill sponsor would claim during his brief floor presentation. And then the reps would be put on the spot to decide within a moment whether to support, oppose, or abstain. This is sadly a common trick in Georgia’s legislature—it’s how they passed a similar bill seeking permanent Eastern Daylight Time in 2021. Thankfully that 2021 bill remains blocked by Congress. But this new bill seeks to bypass Congress and go straight to the US Department of Transportation. That’s an uncharted path, which makes it unpredictable and dangerous. Tell all Georgia state house representatives asap to OPPOSE HB 154, both for the unfair process and for the damage it would do to health, safety, travel, and economy!

Georgia residents: OPPOSE HB 154! This bill would push sunrise past 8am for four months, as late as 8:50am. It cost lives when last tried. Health and safety needs Standard Time's morning light. Call your GA Rep. They didn't know DST was in HB 154, and can reject the revision from the senate. You can find your legislator here: legis.ga.gov/find-my-legisl… I spoke with Representative Sharon Cooper's office, and she plans to reject the revised bill returning from the Senate. Her aide mentioned that many representatives were blindsided by this hidden revision and that phone calls from constituents will be effective. The daylight saving time (DST) change was included in a bill primarily labeled for emergency services. According to the Georgia Assembly website, the bill is listed as: HB 154 - Emergency medical services; designate ambulance services as an essential service legis.ga.gov/legislation/69…

As of this morning, I'm pleased to report that after 3.5 years of hard work and dedication, Operation Transformation has been successfully completed, losing a total of 113lbs. The pants I'm wearing today are size 32 slim; the pants in the "before" photo were size 48 whale.

Fox News has learned that the Commander of the 82nd Airborne Division Maj Gen Brandon Tegtmeier and his “command element,” members of his headquarters staff, have been ordered to deploy to the Middle East as the Pentagon and White House weigh whether to send the 82nd Airborne Division to the Middle East for possible land operations. There has been speculation that the US would use ground forces to possibly take Kharg Island or for other missions inside Iran. This would be a first step needed to plan for such a contingency. NYT was first to report yesterday that the Pentagon was weighing whether to send the 82nd Airborne. nytimes.com/2026/03/23/us/…

@aakashgupta According to NBC/ABC live news this evening, that airport is short with 33 of 37 positions. Apparently, it is normal on a Sunday night to have only one controller. This may need to change, and @NTSB will make that decision. What a tough mess this controller will need to deal with
