@NIKNBAYT i’d be looking at a facilitating guard (as it relates to the draft: tyler tanner, christian anderson) and a physical C with good feel (morez johnson, tarris reed)

What position or player archetype (scorer, shooter, facilitator etc) do you think the Celtics need for next year?

@GnomeChompsky0 Whoever the Celtics bring back, they do need someone to eat some calories though. As much as the Tatum Stans want 35USG, Celtics do need to protect him and keep him fresh.

The thing is it will be the best thing for all JB gets what he’s always wanted (a real team of his own) JT gets to play the style that’s best suited for him Celtics get to reset the cap sheet instead of it being clogged by 2 guys Player stans get inflated stats for each

@GnomeChompsky0 Crazy how after Game 3, it felt like you could just never break up the Jays. Now it’s just time. It was clear when it filtered onto the court with JB’s play in Game 5.

imagine your best player is out for 80% of the season n instead of getting a top 5 pick you end up scamming 55 wins just to lose to the player/team you’ve owned badly for 12+ years in the round 1 of the playoffs

As of 4 hours after the season ending my ideal Celtics offseason is 1. Extend Queta 2. RobWill reunion 3. Draft Tyler Tanner 4. Get Hugo to do whatever Pritchard does in the offseason

@alpacinogrunt wasted a shot at the top end of a generational draft year just to go out sad like this… awesome 👍

I think it’s pretty unquestionable at this point that 30 pieces of Silver is the worst commissioner in the history of the 4 major American sports leagues

@jfwtrmn @patri0ts3 and when said terrible receivers completely break down against real competition as we saw in the super bowl, what then? you could have the best OL in the world and it wouldn’t matter if drake has to stand in the pocket forever waiting for his dog shit WRs to get open

@dfbsport @patri0ts3 unironically yes, keep Maye alive and let cheap, mediocre WRs get separation on the deep throws he excels at, while having a really good run game to keep people honest

Calling Boutte a WR3/4 for life really hurt some feelings. I’m being objective… this is why the Pats fanbase gets the reputation it does. Boutte is not a WR2 without projecting a massive leap. WR2s are NOT 500-yard guys with a top-5 QB in back-to-back seasons. Boutte goes invisible for long stretches. He makes the occasional acrobatic catch and is a low-end field stretcher, and people lose their mind. He’s Joshua Palmer reincarnated — which is fine, but that sucks if that’s your premier deep threat. Don’t confuse Maye’s generational deep passing ability with Boutte being an elite deep threat. WR2s command more than Day 3 picks (as projected) on the open market, too, which should show how the league feels about him… especially if he’s part of the AJB trade. I never said anything negative about KW. He’s an athletic demon with upside, and his game is not refined yet. Again… it’s a projection to just assume KW is going to morph into a prolific receiver. That being said, I do think KW has a good chance at developing into a quality starter, but the fact of the matter is that WRs going from minimal rookie production to elite production is rare. Most of the league’s best WRs show it in year one. There are very few guys that go from 10 receptions for 200 yards to 1,000+ yard receivers. It doesn’t mean it’s impossible, but it’s a low likelihood. As for Hollins… mid personified. He’s 33 years old and has never broken 690 yards. If he has a high snap/route share percentage on your team, you’re not doing great at WR. This is a bottom-5 to bottom-10 WR room without AJB… and sliding all the chips in for a 29-year-old WR coming off a down year, who may have degenerative knee issues, may be declining, and is on the back nine of his career is a risky bet. If you get 1,200–1,500 yard AJB, then the other pieces complement him nicely, and I would agree that it’s a sufficient room. It’s still not ideal when you consider the concerns with AJB and the lack of a clear plan for after 2026. And the fake astonishment in some of these replies is either blatantly denying reality or completely blinded by fandom. As of now, it’s a lateral room from 2025 with Doubs at best, and it was pretty evident they lacked high-end skill position talent in 2025.

@tjdissect This trash take just lost my follow. Boutte was already a solid WR 2/3 level player last year in his first full year with Maye. There’s 0 sign he’ll stop improving KW is a dog and will show it when given a chance. Hollins knows his role and does it well You’re just a hater

🚨 Chelsea have some names of managers they have not made public yet as they work to make a shortlist. This is similar to what happened when Maresca was hired ahead of McKenna, Frank and De Zerbi. (@kierangill_DM)

@mcgonagall7777 absolutely should be getting ahead of it and taking one round 1 in 2027. capitalize on an elite class and then you’ve got one of the best rooms in the league for as long as brown remains himself, then you’ve got your WR1 already in house once he leaves.
