The situation in Kyiv remains very complicated.
About 800,000 people have no electricity in their homes as of last night. Those luckier to have electricity only see it for several hours a day (and often, no electricity means no heating and water).
In Desniansky district, a very densely populated residential area, there is no heating. A lot of residents had less than 30 minutes of electricity in the past two days.
Large tents are installed in the district so people can spend nights in relative warmth and have some hot food. However, for many elderly people leaving their apartments is virtually impossible without an elevator. Social services do their best to deliver hot food to them once a day.
The long and harsh Ukrainian winter continues. Russia is already planning new attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
