We now know that hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied minors (UACs) are missing, lost in the system, handed off to unvetted adults, with many likely falling prey to trafficking. HOW DID WE GET HERE? After years of vilifying @POTUS over “kids in cages,” it was the Democrats’ cages that began to overflow. Under their open border agenda, millions of illegal crossings flooded the system, overwhelming shelters and processing centers nationwide. Faced with the same crisis they once exploited for political gain, the @JoeBiden & @KamalaHarris administration rushed UACs into the hands of unvetted sponsors, no background checks, no oversight, no accountability. Just get them out of sight. This wasn’t compassion. It was government-enabled trafficking! Let’s rewind: 👉 In April 2018, under President Trump, HHS’s Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) and DHS signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to allow continuous data sharing. 👉 This MOA empowered ICE to vet sponsors using information collected during the child placement process. It was a safeguard to protect children. But Democrats pushed back. ⚠️ In 2018, then-Senator Kamala Harris and Senator Ron Wyden co-sponsored the “Families, Not Facilities Act” (S.388), aiming to prohibit ICE from accessing HHS data for enforcement. ⚠️ In 2019, Rep. Judy Chu introduced the House version (H.R.2217). Neither bill passed, but they revealed what was coming. 🟥 In March 2021, the Biden administration terminated the Trump-era MOA, shutting down critical data sharing between DHS and HHS, including ICE and CBP.
