I've had over 30 people who at some point in their lives considered me their #1 best friend. I think forming deep connections with people is kinda my superpower. I think the secret is that I'm kind+ caring+observant+ passionate about solving people's problems + I literally need nothing in return from anyone. I actually don't know anyone who has a better give-to-take ratio than I do. And most importantly, I NEVER judge anyone, I never get jealous. It's very easy for people to open up to me. Like, a roommate in Paris dating some ugly 50yo multimillionaire? That's so cool! You get to see way more of Paris than any other student! A White guy looking for hookers in China or Vietnam? No problem, let me ask my Asian male mongering experts. I can get you top grade stuff for local prices. I'm also very fun, as you all know. Like, you invite me to any party and I bring high quality alcohol for everyone. I make people laugh. I make shy people join conversations. I know about virtually every topic a bit. I bring bluetooth mics and start singing songs the majority like, and people get into the mood, join in, and then make their own playlists for the night. I'm OP at people/service business because of this trait stack. I just make friends with all my customers

One of the most catastrophic assumptions you can make is that Canada will just lie down and take it. We never have. We never will. Expect a hell of a lot of resistance to whatever bullshit you’re trying to pull. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

@FengShuiFlowZ Beacose past betrayals of the worst kind were made by people who knew how to get close. far more Dangerous then the Random Jerk. they act like perfect chameleons, taking the shape of your ideal, betraying you after years of trust building. how to trust after that?

The “any people” you are referring to are those you interacted with before you had established your own psychological protective barrier. Once you have built your own protection mechanism, the people you later meet and interact with have already been filtered through multiple layers and are those who can be helpful to you. So why can’t you open your heart to them?

In Feng Shui, the fact that 80% of autistic people are bullied or used by 'friends' is because their mental layout is often an 'open Ming Tang (Bright Hall)'—no scheming, no defenses, straightforward. This extremely pure 'Qi field' easily attracts 'Robbing Wealth Afflictions' (people who plunder under the guise of friendship) and 'Hidden Arrow Afflictions' (betrayals from behind) in complex social Feng Shui. The post's grim data reminds us: 'Water that is too clear has no fish; a layout too open invites thieves.' Autistic individuals don't need to change their inner 'pure water quality,' but they must build a 'Xuan Guan (Spiritual Screen)' at their social boundaries. This screen acts as a 'buffer and filter': making the turbid energy of 'scheming' and 'calculating' detour at the door, allowing only the 'vital Qi' (true friends) tested by time to enter the inner chamber. Remember: Your kindness is expensive; it must have Feng Shui 'edges' and 'thresholds.' Don't let just anyone march straight into your natal layout.

You may not like hearing this, but a lot of mental illnesses are not healed by being your authentic self. They're healed by acting like someone who's healthy in the way you aren't. It doesn't feel good. You don't fix society. You do it by being strong when you don't feel like it

PSA to the young men who are in the lower 80% of men who can't get a woman because of hypergamy: Many of you are legit undateable. You think that if hypergamy dating apps ended tomorrow, you'd suddenly have a gf. You are addicted to porn and gaming and no woman wants that.

@SimpleFaith888 Yup, check out the comment section and you'll swe the full display of lack of self worth. I also think this is less about men not getting women, and more about them not being able to get certain higher tiers of women.

If fear created strong men, we would be living in a golden age of masculinity. For generations, boys have been yelled at, threatened, shamed, punished, intimidated, and hit. Told to suppress their emotions, told to "man up," and told to stop crying. So where are all the strong men? Instead, we are surrounded by wounded boys trapped in adult bodies. Boys who learned to hide instead of heal. Boys who learned to perform instead of connect. Boys who learned that fear is respect and emotional suppression is strength. Real masculinity does not grow in the presence of fear. It grows in the presence of fathers who know how to lead without resorting to fear, domination, or violence.

@uncle_deluge Gel-Mann amnesia. It originally referred to the tendency of people to trust the press, except for when the press covers an issue that the reader is actually familiar with, which causes the reader to remember that journalists are idiots

@cybelethebest Certainly. The Trads are rather misguided in their idealization of the 1950s. A return to pre-Enlightenment and pre-industrialization norms would be much better.

To the extent that we are experiencing “a disconnect between our 300,000-year-strong biological programming and new norms” today, we were also experiencing this in the few generations prior that trads point to as the halcyon days for mothers.
Mitochondrial Eve@tardwife4life

I think we underestimate how much of our modern angst is caused by a disconnect between our 300,000-year-strong biological programming and new norms that have barely existed for a single generation. The unease only deepens with the knowledge that there's no going back.
