For nearly three months, the incident remained unknown to the woman. The matter came to light only recently when the clip allegedly began circulating among residents and eventually spread on social media. The woman reportedly discovered the issue on March 9, when she visited a local vegetable market around evening. There, she overheard a few people talking about a video that had gone viral. When she turned around, she noticed several women discussing the clip. An acquaintance present at the spot informed her that a video of her inside the lift with a man was being circulated widely. She then filed a police complaint. During the investigation, it emerged that the housing society chairman was not technically equipped to handle the CCTV system, so the responsibility of managing and checking footage had been given to his son. Police suspect that the accused may have accessed the CCTV backup system, extracted the video clip and circulated it, leading to the scandal.
