@GuruAnaerobic This is spot on. I’m aiming for a marathon PB at 50. The only reason I can even consider it is because I didn’t fully empty the tank 25 years ago. But that’s ok. I’m at peace with it. 🫡💪

If you're posting PBs at the age of 50, it's because you didn't optimize that particular metric when you were 25. I can't think of any physical quality that can be better at 50 than when you were younger. It's great to be fitter or stronger in old age than you were when you were younger, but you are still systemically older. You're improving within reduced bandwidth.

Yesterday was the birthday of Marion Jones, double World champion over 100m (1997, 1999) with a further gold over 4x100m in the former and a bronze in the LJ in the latter edition - PBs 10.65A (100m, equal sixth all-time), 21.62A (200m, fifth all-time)

Since someone is trying to "call me out". Why was my marathon chip time different than Strava? Because I was lead off course by the lead cyclist, so I hit the marathon distance well before the finish line. I have zero need to lie to myself or you all. All I do is share my running story with you all and I have zero reason to lie to any of you. If I use Strava GPS its 2:39:57 or chip data its 2:40:31, regardless I am happy with either time. Take with that what you want since people are trying to do "gotcha" moments like I'm trying to hide something. 🤦

@RucksSake Marcus is a poor man’s Carlos Spencer, and the ABs never truly trusted Carlos. The opposition not knowing what you’re going to do is great. The rest of your backs line not knowing either, isnt so great. Marcus is a very good player, but not the messiah you want him to be.

People think it’s a Fin vs Marcus thing and it really isn’t. Fin looks a great player. But we wouldn’t be trying to fit Fin at 15 if it was the other way around. Marcus is just that good he can do both. Marcus has been let down by those around him…not the other way around.
