A great thing about Australian politics is that everyone says they support the right to peaceful protest but everyone simultaneously hates and bags each individual instance of peaceful protest because every single example is somehow "not the right way to do it"

A lot of people missing Penny Wong's point here...or not agreeing with it...or both. Wong stayed inside Labor to achieve substantial change. It took more than a decade but she did it - her point being that is what Labor expects of every MP, not just Fatima Payman.
