Apart from Shinji Kagawa and Park Ji-sung, can you name two other Asian players who have played for Manchester United?

@PaddyKeoghAF Can you define your resounding success criteria please? In my head its someone who plays lots of games for us, has good g/a numbers and wins trophies. Think Mata is a yes in each criteria. For me a very good signing, might not have reached his Chelsea peak but defo a success

Maths isn’t your strong point! Win = 3 points. Chelsea 48 points Manchester United 58 points. If Chelsea lose they have 4 games to play. So 4x3=12 points & United a 10 points clear. Given that information, do you stand by your post?

If Mainoo was playing for another team people would be saying he is a 80-90m midfielder.

@Utdtruthful @TyMarshall_MEN What bs. Amorim time in charge had little to no benefit. He nearly cost us losing one of the best young midfielders in world. He is a chancer who somehow has built a cult of fans who will try to convince you results don’t matter. It’s crazy

🚨🗣️ @TyMarshall_MEN: “If there was one legacy of the Ruben Amorim era, it is the way he so ruthlessly discarded BAD apples. “It meant Carrick has inherited a much more UNIFIED dressing room, one that is pulling in the same direction, and that was evident in the way United dug deep in the second half to hold on to their advantage”. #MUFC [MEN]

@johnaokane What I find fascinating is people are saying we gave played awful but got results. Like that’s a bad thing. Under Amorim we hardly won at all but we had a style, so what. Many fans put style first but if you don’t get results and get relegated style doesn’t matter.

There's people who understand Kobbie Mainoo, the value & quality that he brings to Manchester United, then there are idiots. There is no inbetween.

@DevildetailsMU I am not pro or anti any particular candidate. Just don't wont the turmoil next season. If its Nagelsmann, he needs to work within a structure & plan longer term. We need to agree a style of football & clear direction on signings.

Nagalsman is a better manager than Michael Carrick no amount of mental gymnastics comparing him to Ten Hag will change that fact. Only argument to keep Carrick is to bide time to hire someone who is 100% proven to be better than Nagalsman. Will Flick or Enrique be available in the next 1-2 years? Big gamble! Carrick will get sacked within 18 months if we keep him bookmark it!

@djkyffin Absolutely, I'm hoping we've moved beyond that point where we're ripping up & retreading for each new appointment. They should be fitting the build the leadership are putting together, unless of course the squad is due it! Then building sustainability at the top end of the table.

Manchester United don't need a super coach, just the correct one. Omar Berrada, Jason Wilcox & co must to learn the lessons of their failures & do so to pick the right man this time. The pressure of added fixtures is a real concern, the same way that it is getting recruitment right because the squad has been quickly exposed alone to suspensions & injuries. I'm glad they aren't rushing the decision, they need to run the full process & get as much information as they can before making it. Signings should be joining for the vision of the club & the project. It is great that there are players supportive of Michael Carrick, that they like his style of management, training sessions & the coaching setup. That doesn't mean he should get the job. It is great that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is drawn to “alpha” characters & that Carrick’s personality does not align with what he’d typically go for. That doesn't mean he shouldn't get the job. This is one key part of the biggest summer in years for Manchester United. The coach, their staff & the players brought in are all a part of the puzzle. It is exciting, but also not without risk.

@CharZiyanah Agreed PL experience should not be overly considered. Its more important the manager gets the best out of the squad without needed to sign 11 new players. While style is important, they need to hit the ground running, we cant reset again, they need to get UCL qualification.

If City and Liverpool allowed concerns over Premier League experience to dictate their managerial decisions, they would have lost out on the two best coaches of this era. PL experience is a nicety not a necessity. Naggelsman has faced English clubs such as United, City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs and is no stranger to Premier League football. He has also studied it. Whether he is what this club needs is its own question. But premier league experience should not be a factor!

Rate Nagelsmann as a coach. Like him. If United went for him, it'd be exciting and a big statement. But. Remember when you looked at Ten Hag's football and got excited about it being replicated? Remember when you marvelled at Amorim's Sporting team and his new-wave tactics that was going to revolutionise United? Can't help but feel a bit Groundhog Day. Latest flavour of the month. The moment it doesn't work straight away your patience will run out. If he gets it, I'll give him time. Most people will demand his appointment now and be critical at the first opportunity to do so.
