- Brazil: a federal deputy is demanding an official investigation, and congress is weighing a digital ownership bill
- Netherlands: a consumer group suing for $457 million on behalf of 1.7 million players has now escalated its case over the disc decision
- UK: a £2 billion claim over playstation store pricing has already been argued in court. closing arguments are done - a ruling is expected within months
- Mexico: two federal lawmakers are preparing an antitrust complaint against sony as the sole seller and sole price-setter on its platform
and here's the twist. for years, sony's answer in these cases was simple: there's competition, you can always buy the disc.
on july 1, sony deleted its own alibi.
the petition got silence. the cancellations got coupons. this one comes with a court date.

@Ness_and_Sonic @GamingCentral26 Games have been installed to the hard drive or SSD for over a decade because it's dramatically faster and quieter. Even on the Switch 2, game cartridges are slower than digital. That's one of the reasons physical media is disappearing.

@dlanstp1016 @GamingCentral26 I'd argue they'd be better off pushing AAA releases to physical media exclusively on PS6. The reason is it would let them save money on SSDs since they'd be able to get away with smaller SSDs if indie games were the ones that were digital downloads.

La fin du physique tuera cette méthode qui aide grandement des personnes qui peuvent pas ses payer tous les jeux qui sortent dans un même mois.

Valve saw this coming and their Steam Machine is gonna be the gateway to PC gaming where you don’t need the know-how or high prices for a PC, yet still get the extensive library and convenience.
