My takeaway from todays press conferences is that the #Flames have stability in their organization for the first in years
They have a direction. They have their long term GM and head coach. Players are happy. Fans are happy

My completely presumptuous suspicion is that both 2 and 25 will be officially retired next year to coincide with the end of the Saddledome era. Maybe 13, too.

If true, looks like the Flames have phantom retired another number, as Wiebe wore #25 with North Dakota. 25 is an officially un-retired number that has been worn by 19 players, most recently Jake Markstrom. But as we know, the team already doesn't let anyone wear 2, 5, 13, 14.

@gmdwiz I don’t buy it was ownership saying no, he’s said yes to everything else. If anything, Conroy probably just said no. I’m not a huge Murray guy, but it’s makes zero sense.

Unless there is a Kadri trade pending in the Queue, the only reason why the #flames got Strome was to hit the cap floor. What a colossal failure by ownership not to move Kadri. Wow. The team will regret this big time.
