1) Just because someone has money doesn't mean you or the government are entitled to it.
2) If you force investors like Bezos to liquidate investments to pay taxes, then it will cost jobs and growth.
3) I don't know who this stuff is meant to fool, but anyone with any experience with government knows that adding $200 million or even $200 billion to federal budgets won't accomplish any of those things.
We run a 2 trillion dollar annual deficit. That money would, as best, go toward paying off the interest on our debt. And if you created a new entitlement as you are suggesting, it would be so filled with fraud and waste within 2 years that it could eat up Bezos' entire fortune while barely helping anyone.COVID-19
To prove the point, Minnesota tried to offer to pay for meals for kids during Covid-19. The result was the Feeding Our Future scandal, where dozens of people conspired to steal $250 million+ from the program.
We can start talking about increasing tax revenue and adding new programs when the people who run the government can show they can effectively use the massive budgets they already have instead of wasting them. Until then, stop demanding more of other people's money.

Jeff Bezos has $222 billion. If he paid my wealth tax this year, we could fund insulin in America for everyone who needs it plus free school lunch for every kid in Texas—and have plenty of money left over. And Bezos would still have $215 billion dollars to spare.

My inlaws started this Ben Franklin in Fayetteville, WV on July 1, 1955, my husband and I got married in June of 1984 and started working and eventually buying the business and building. We closed the store in March of 2023 and were the last Ben Franklin in West Virginia. This store was open just shy of 68 years.

Or they are as useful as 5 and 10 cent stores were 100 years ago and they were in every small town across the country.
The Ben Franklin franchise operated approximately 2,500 stores nationwide. F.W. Woolworth Co., had 3,000, GC Murphy's and McCrory Stores had roughly 1,500 each, Kressge also had several thousand, so did Grant's, not to mention all the regional stores, and then there were the Mom and Pop Five and dimes. which and all totaled over 20,000 across the country.
Dollar General has 20,000 stores.

For the first time in a while I had a fresh Country Club Bakery pepperoni roll. I’ve had pepperoni rolls all across WV and nothing compares. As for baked pepperoni rolls filled with peppers, etc., nothing compares to Colessanoes.
That’s a hill I’ll die on. #fairmont

Sad to announce that plans for Lorain Ohio are not to be.
Building had more problems after inspection than was worth the effort to rehab.
But never fear….I am north bound once again to same area to check out plan B and will keep y’all updated.

The wedding was nothing that I imagined it would be. First, no religious tone at all. The happy couple were married by a cousin of the bride. He had tattoos. The new husband had grown a goatee and looked fully 20 years older than the bride. The mother of the bride twerked.
