I’m thinking about doing a small Zoom for a handful of emerging managers: → how LPs actually make decisions → how to sequence your raise → real examples of what works / doesn’t If you’re actively raising (or about to), reply “interested” and I’ll share details.

This is actually a natural dynamic in exploration/exploitation (which startups & vc investing is all about). You need massive amounts of capital to scale ideas that prove assumptions re unit economics / economies of scale. Many competitors is a sign of healthy competition, the outcome of which will crown only one or two winners. Founders working on ideas before they enter this stage are the ones you want to bet on. Founders entering this stage post-consensus are the misguided ones.

Pumped to support Jack and Chao as they build a foundation model built around spatial reasoning. Some thought on what makes us at Hyperstition Research bullish on this: 1. VLA approach in robotics is an artifact of retrofitting large language models to the physical world; custom models can do better 2. Spatial reasoning, which is what @SanchoRobotics is doing, is an efficient form of reasoning, both in data efficiency and accuracy 3. Locomotion in robots is under-explored & thus presents first-mover advantages in capturing the "flexible manufacturing" category Case in point, their partnership with @multiplylabs is solving movement between workcells. This requires spatial reasoning, geometry, reliability and precision; something only Sancho can do today. Jack Yang and Chao Cao, congratulations and here's to making your hyperstition a reality 🚀

With @lazyledger_io acting as a the first minimal, pluggable consensus and data availability layer, people can deploy secure, decentralised blockchains instantly - by implementing the chain as an optimistic rollup backed by the @lazyledger_io general-purpose, scale-out DA layer.

Thesis: app-specific chains with their own consensus that do one job, e.g. Bitcoin Antithesis: general-purpose chains that run every apps on a shared "world computer", e.g. Ethereum Synthesis: app-specific chains that share a secure consensus layer, e.g. Cosmos + @lazyledger_io

There’s a whole group of people buying crypto based on what they hear from people with faces on tik tok and youtube But I’m a traditionalist, I make my investment decisions based on cartoon characters and pepe avatars on twitterDOTcom

@zebranotunicorn @hnshah You bring up a good point. Established channels are saturated but with some creativity, new channels can have low CAC. E.g. App Store in 2008 or Snap/TikTok more recently.

@dmitriskj @hnshah Even though there the no of channels is growing, the cost of acq customers is still high and you need more $ to scale.

I’ve observed that new software categories tend to become increasingly crowded earlier on in their lifecycles than what we experienced in the past. This is fantastic news for customers. And a huge opportunity for product people to internalize this reality and operate accordingly.

@traviscorrigan @hnshah True in some cases. First movers in new industries eventually get destroyed by incumbents - e.g. @benedictevans article "Are you a seal?". In other cases where network effects matter, first-mover advantage helps.

@dmitriskj @hnshah it's important to note that first-mover advantage is an illusion. rarely do the early solutions that crowd a new market truly fit customer needs to achieve 'last mover advantage' time entry to learn from competitors and fuse best parts to achieve asymmetric dominance

Crypto and #DeFi is a rejection of this status quo of shady manipulation controlled by the elite institutions Through censorship-resistant finanical products, everyone is on a level playing and there are no privileged positions This is going to be a bumpy decade, strap in frens

When traditional financial institutions manipulate the market, it's "sorry retail, this is how the game is played" When retail investors beat them at their own game, favors are called in to restrict free trade to "protect investors" vice.com/en/article/m7a…

Perfect example of how centralization in today's financial systems works against retail investors 🙁. The alternative is already here: Decentralized Finance - #DeFi. Assets, market makers, order books, billions in total value locked. Start here 👉 @defipulse
Robinhood@RobinhoodApp

In light of current market volatility, we are restricting transactions for certain securities to position closing only, including $AMC and $GME. Read more here. rbnhd.co/volatility-info
