Breaking news, I appreciate fair and accurate news coverage. I sent one email, almost a year ago, highlighting a surprising singular instance of balanced coverage from you. It was an outlier from your typical reporting, if you can call it that. For example, your tweet this AM:

@FreeAlbertaRob @SamBlackettAB Since you invited this…here is an email from the premiers press secretary applauding my coverage on this very topic. Your accusation is completely unfounded. Please delete it.

We need to connect people directly to treatment, stabilization, and long-term recovery instead of referring them to drug consumption sites. We are shutting down the Sheldon M. Chumir supervised consumption site in Calgary and reinvesting those funds into expanded addiction

We need forgo the team event or do it post actual individual event. It is not how we train in figure skating. The disasters we are seeing for so many is just devastating. You don’t train your whole life to win a team medal. #MilanoCortinaOlympics2026 @Olympics @ISU_Figure

How weak are those who are mad at Tate MacRae for being one of the best in the world at what she does? She is recognized for her talent and her years of perseverance. Good for you,Tate! You inspire all who have a dream to be the best! Ignore the bots. cbc.ca/music/tate-mcr…

@OilersNation @SIASport Lisa and Ryder I have never been so disappointed in YOU. Who cares, Tate you get that money girl. I would also like to say that it’s kind of sad that you can’t see that this is a manufactured controversy to get people talking about the Olympic broadcast. NBC- 1 L&R- 0

@staceybrotzel @tatemcrae She’s nobody’s girl. Leave Tate alone. If nbc wants to pay a Canadian to promote their Olympics I think it says more about them then it does about her. Also dressed entirely in red. This is completely manufactured controversy that worked. Look at us talking about it.

Big news for Alberta. New direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Calgary will grow tourism, expand investment opportunities and strengthen our role as a global hub. This is exactly the kind of progress our recent missions were designed to deliver. Ministers Joseph Schow and Andrew Boichenko @AndrewBoitchenk were at YYC today to mark this important step forward for Alberta’s economy and tourism sector. Learn more: alberta.ca/release.cfm?xI…

I am deeply disappointed by what is heard in this recording. Teachers have a duty to remain professional and politically neutral in the classroom. Students are there to learn math, language, science and critical thinking based on the approved curriculum, not to be subjected to profanity, partisan attacks, or insults toward Alberta’s ethical energy workers and their families. Our classrooms must be places of respect where every student, and every family, feels welcome regardless of their political views or where they work.

EXCLUSIVE CLASSROOM AUDIO: Alberta teacher at St André Bessette Catholic School caught on tape swearing, belittling conservatives, promoting the Alberta NDP, and mocking people who work in our energy sector in front of students.

@TheAnnaMurphy @SkateCanada Not all events were this poorly attended I’m sure, but this was senior women’s short program, which when I skated in 2003 would have been well attended.

The decision by @SkateCanada to withdraw all sanctioned events from Alberta through 2030 will have real and measurable economic consequences for Calgary and communities across the province. Major sporting events are critical economic engines. They drive hotel bookings, generate restaurant and retail revenue, increase tourism spending, sustain local venues and event spaces, and support thousands of jobs across Alberta. The impact of this decision will be felt directly by small businesses, hospitality workers, artists, event staff, and families whose livelihoods depend on a vibrant and thriving visitor economy. Ignoring this reality comes at a cost that every day Albertans will bear. At the same time, Skate Canada’s decision represents a clear and principled act of leadership. The organization has stated plainly that it will not invest in, or host events in, jurisdictions where government action undermines the safety, dignity, and rights of athletes, their families, or spectators. This is a values based decision rooted in athlete welfare, inclusion, and respect for human rights. In response @ABDanielleSmith has suggested that Skate Canada is “out of touch with the majority of Canadians.” Only weeks ago, this same government and governing party once again empowered and embraced rhetoric about separating from the rest of Canada, positioning themselves in opposition to the very national consensus the Premier now claims to speak for. Before lecturing national organizations about what Canadians believe, the Premier would do well to reflect on who is truly isolating Alberta - and why respected national organizations are unwilling to bring their people, their events, and their investment here. This outcome is not accidental, it is the predictable result of policy choices that signal exclusion rather than belonging. The strength of Calgary and Alberta is found within the diversity of our neighbours. Our businesses, workers, and neighbourhoods should not be made collateral damage for a provincial government that continues to dismiss legitimate concerns about safety, rights, and inclusion. Albertans deserve leadership that understands a simple truth, economic prosperity and human rights are not competing priorities, they are inseparable. cbc.ca/news/canada/ca…

@TheAnnaMurphy @SkateCanada Respectfully Anna, this argument is not entirely sound. The Skate Canada Challenge was recently held in Calgary. I encourage you to take a look at the livestream videos and the attendance. As a former Junior Competitive, Triple Gold level athlete I can tell you they are wrong.

@eva_kurilova History lesson: In 1992, Kristi Yamaguchi defeated Tonya Harding and Midori Ito, who executed jumps ONLY men could physically do. Yamaguchi did not moan or victimize herself; instead, she worked harder & defeated two women who physically jumped like men @eva_kurilova

So is @SkateCanada going to boycott the Winter Olympics when the International Olympic Committee officially adopts similar rules to Alberta next month? @ABDanielleSmith deserves great credit for protecting fairness for women and girls in sport.

Oh, I see: This new policy was the @SkateCanada holiday send off… Lump of coal in the stocking, so to speak. Concerned Canadians have until Friday to send comments if you want staff to notice. Merry Christmas 🎄
