@ewarren Pay the above for how long? The assumption is these families have 6.2 trillion in cash. Most of the wealth is in assets such as stocks and property. Turing that into cash requires someone else to pay cash for the assets. How does that make sense?

A wealth tax on the top .15% of the richest families would generate $6.2 trillion in revenue. That could pay for: Universal childcare Millions of new homes Slashing child poverty Medicare for people aged 55+ Universal paid family leave Tuition-free community college And more.

Have many of you taken a deep dive into the book of Job? I’ve read it & taught out of it thru the years. But I’ve been neck-deep in it now for several months for a series I’m doing with my Houston class. 1 of the most fascinating things I’ve ever studied. The writing is stunning.

I long for a day when the United States has a president who, just for starters, not to even get into more serious matters, is not older than Methuselah and does not sound like a 13 year-old on TikTok talking about middle school classmates. I don’t think this is too much to ask. And do not say to me, I guess you wish we had so-and-so and think what they’d do. We don’t have so-and-so. We have this one. And I don’t think it makes me woke to wish he acted like a grown-up.
