ShitcoinDAO has been running shittily for over 2 years now. One of the smelliest secrets of the shittoken industry underbelly.

2 years older than Rare Pepe (though in stasis for 5 years) SHITCOIN will also continue to exist. Its still on a PoW chain which is pretty good. Its an original memetoken on top of the original memecoin. Despite some limitations we feel this is still a pretty good narrative.

It’s not changing Dogecoin. The fundamentals of what makes Dogecoin Dogecoin would remain unchanged. No blockchain is meant to stay immutable in all aspects. The very concept of all blockchains is that they are constantly improved with emerging tech and threats. Read Satoshi’s white papers. Dogecoin has already received many similar upgrades and changes over the years already. Quantum threat is why all existing chains that want to exist in 15 years are looking into and developing upgrades as an example. Dogecoin is no different.

Got the team flying in to Melbourne for a week-long push to finalise our dogecoin 2.0 proposal we've been working on for *checks* almost three years now. At close to 50 pages of technical specs it contains radical-but-achievable goals like 6s block time, millions of transactions per minute via recursive zk proofs, quantum-resistant keys and a unique separation layer designed to promote smart-contract L2s (like dogeOS) while keeping the base-layer simple and fast for fundamental financial primitives. I personally think it's the next evolution Dogecoin needs, but the community will ultimately decide the future. Looking forward to demonstrating working code in the year ahead and convincing you all through hard numbers / facts and not hyperbole.

@REDWRITER @tjstebbing Transforming Dogecoin into something else won't create new users. It will only alienate existing users. There are already a lot of blockchains with 6 second or less tx times. You're approaching Dogecoin from the standpoint that it's broken and needs to be fixed. It's not.

That’s only because adoption and utility are currently low. Realistically speaking Dogecoin layer 1 can’t currently handle a fraction of market demand if real adoption were to occur. That’s why all real use case adoption for Dogecoin is currently being built out on layer 2s right now. That limitation could be what is preventing adoption growth on L1. Remember L1 is decentralized, L2 is not.

@REDWRITER @tjstebbing Traffic on the network has never been an actual problem.. Dogecoin always handled what anyone throws at it like a champ. Even at the peak of Doginals, blocks were only about 50% full. They are currently about 1% full.

@tjstebbing 6s block times and millions of transactions per minute instead of a few million transaction daily limit is insane level improvement. It’s honestly what is needed to enable Dogecoin to be a viable decentralized currency at Layer 1
