It is now likely the estimate (discovery ongoing) of tunnels in Gaza is closer to 1,000 kilometers (over 600 miles). Layers of tunnels like a spiderweb underground. More tunnels than roads.

“The Tunnels of Gaza.” The latest episode of my @WarInstitute Urban Warfare Project podcast is out. I explain all I’ve learned about Hamas tunnels during 7 research trips to Israel and Gaza since Oct 7. Also available anywhere you get podcasts. mwi.westpoint.edu/urban-warfare-…

MORE: Russian manned aircraft violated NATO airspace for a second time on October 23. ISW continues to assess that Russia is increasingly engaging in covert and overt attacks against Europe and that ongoing Russian airspace violations and non-conventional activity are likely part of ”Phase Zero” — Russia’s broader informational and psychological condition-setting phase — to prepare for a possible NATO-Russia war in the future.

NEW: Russian forces continue to advance in central and western Pokrovsk, although the exact contour of the front line in and around the town remains unclear. Other Key Takeaways: The Kremlin continues its multifaceted cognitive warfare effort aimed at influencing US decision makers in Russia’s favor in response to recent US sanctions. Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) CEO and key Kremlin negotiator Kirill Dmitriev announced on October 24 that he is traveling to the United States to meet with Trump Administration officials. The Russian Central Bank lowered its key interest rate for the fourth time since June 2025, likely in an attempt to increase capital available for the Russian defense industrial base (DIB) and to maintain the facade of domestic economic stability against the backdrop of new US sanctions and continued unsustainable wartime spending. Russian forces recently launched a series of long-range strikes with modified glide bombs against Ukrainian cities, underscoring Ukraine’s urgent requirements for long-range air defense systems. The Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) is reportedly increasing its purchases of domestically produced cruise and ballistic missiles despite Western sanctions that aim to contain Russia’s defense industrial base (DIB) production. Russian manned aircraft violated NATO airspace for a second time on October 23. Belarusian security officials are supporting Russian cognitive warfare efforts against Poland and Lithuania. Ukrainian forces advanced near Kupyansk and Lyman. Russian forces advanced near Velykyi Burluk, Siversk, Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, and Velykomykhailivka.

This is the craziest stat of the World Series: Trey Yesavage, the Blue Jays starting pitcher who makes $57K a year, started the game by striking out Shohei Ohtani, who makes $47M - that's 824x his salary.

Anastasiia Hrytsiv and her family were killed by the Russian strike on Lviv region last night. Anastasiia's school wrote about her death. She had her life ahead of her, but Russia's damned war against Ukraine took the lives of the whole family. Deepest condolences...

Last night, fascist Russia carried out a massive aerial assault on Ukraine. In Lviv region, four people died, including a 15-year-old girl. In Zaporizhzhya region, one person died and more than ten were injured. Ukrainians withstand this terror, as they do every day.

NEW: Leaked documents detail Russian plans to equip and train a PLA airborne battalion, which could play a significant role in a PRC invasion of Taiwan. The documents illustrate how Russia is supporting PLA modernization efforts. Other Key Takeaways: Xi Jinping has reportedly urged US President Donald Trump to revise US policy on Taiwan and specify that the United States opposes Taiwanese independence. The PRC is likely emboldened following previous US concessions regarding Taiwan. The PRC has continued to coopt international institutions as forums to promote itself as a responsible global leader and articulate its vision for a PRC-centric world order. The effort is meant to erode US influence globally. Taiwanese Foreign Affairs Minister Lin Chia-lung made an unprecedented visit to New York for the UN General Assembly. The PRC criticized the visit as part of its long-standing effort to isolate Taiwan diplomatically. North Korean Vice Foreign Affairs Minister Kim Son Gyong rejected denuclearization at the UN General Assembly. Pyongyang may be emboldened since the PRC and Russia has reduced their opposition to the North Korean nuclear program.

While Europeans are readying to get into IKEA and Netflix on this fine Sunday morning, Russians just murdered an entire family in Lviv, 40 miles from the Polish border. A 15 year old girl is among the victims. If Europeans refuse to help with air defense, Zelensky should just give the Russians safe passage into the EU. Let them enjoy.

BREAKING NEWS: Another Liberal Scandal Chrystia Freeland stood in Parliament dismissing any federal role in BC Ferries’ $1-billion deal with a Chinese state-owned shipyard. But leaked e-mails show the truth: 1. The Canada Infrastructure Bank (a federal Crown corporation) quietly financed the purchase. 2. Liberal staff scrambled behind the scenes to manage the optics instead of protecting Canadian jobs and security. 3. Even Liberal ministers admitted they were “dismayed” but still went along with it. Canadians are paying the price for a government that says one thing in public while doing the opposite in secret. Enough incompetence. Enough cover-ups. theglobeandmail.com/politics/artic…

Yurii Shapovalov, a Ukrainian doctor from Donetsk region, spent more than 7 years in Russian captivity. Yurii worked as a neurologist for 25 years. Due to personal circumstances, he did not leave Donetsk after the city was seized by Russian forces. Security forces detained Yurii in January 2018 on charges of "spying for Ukraine." "'Isolation' is a terrible place. That’s where the torture took place. And the conditions of detention were extremely harsh. All those 100 days I was kept in a basement. We had no water, no sewage, no heating. It was January. Then they put a plastic bag over my head and wrapped it around my neck. And I had to say, 'Fine, I agree, write whatever you need, I’ll sign it'," Yurii shared. One hundred days in the torture chambers, Penal Colony No. 32 in Makiivka, and a sentence of 13 years in prison. Yurii Shapovalov returned to Ukraine in a prisoner exchange on August 14, 2025. He had spent 7 years, 7 months, and 3 days in a Russian prison. 📹: Suspilne

The Parliamentary Budget Officer is urging the Liberals to show Canadians how they're spending their tax-dollars. Canadians didn't give this Liberal government a blank cheque -- they elected a minority Parliament to keep it in check, and a stronger Conservative opposition to hold it accountable. The Liberals, however, are still evading transparency, still spending without accountability and still making life more unaffordable for Canadians. financialpost.com/news/economy/c…
