WHISTLEBLOWER CHARITY CAUGHT IGNORING WHISTLEBLOWERS. TURNS OUT IT'S ABOUT THE MONEY. A documentary just dropped that lays out one of the most cynical operations I have seen in the whistleblowing space. WhistleblowersUK (@WB_UK), run by CEO Georgina Halford Hall and former Conservative MP Jo Gideon (@jogideon), presents itself as the leading force reforming UK whistleblowing law. Their big idea is an Office of the Whistleblower, modelled on the American bounty system, which would give them the power to decide who qualifies as a whistleblower, what fines companies pay, and how much individuals receive. Millions of pounds potentially at stake. Here is what the documentary @WBINC_Doc actually found. 62 people contacted WBUK for help. Low-paid workers were ignored entirely. Higher-paid individuals were contacted back and asked to sign contracts and pay fees. An employment judge criticised WBUK for offering unregulated legal services. Internal messages show Halford Hall telling a whistleblower raising child abuse concerns that her time costs money and she had none to spare. Their parliamentary influence runs through an All Party Parliamentary Group on Whistleblowing, for which WBUK acts as secretariat. APPG secretariats are not required to declare their funding. The documentary raises credible evidence that American law firms specialising in whistleblowing bounty cases have been funding WBUK's push to reshape UK law. Sir Norman Lamb (@normanlamb) resigned as joint chair specifically because he could not get answers about who was paying for what. WBUK then made Christristen Ager Hansen a whistleblowing ambassador and brought him into Parliament events. He was a fugitive in the UK avoiding a prison sentence at the time. A Norwegian court had already ruled his whistleblowing reports were entirely fabricated to serve his own interests. Swedish authorities raided his hotel room and seized his watches over unpaid court costs. WBUK championed him anyway. I have covered Eileen Chubb of Compassion in Care (@CompassnInCare) twice already in this series, the BUPA Seven and the CQC disclosing 47 whistleblowers to their employers. She has been right about every single institution she has taken on. She is right about this one too. Parliament is being lobbied to reshape UK law by an organisation that told a child abuse whistleblower it was too busy to talk. @FionaNaylor2 Yes. Perhaps a little belatedly but the representative for mental health did speak up. And there was a request that mental health got more attention in one of the reports

NHS MANAGER TOLD HER WHISTLEBLOWERS GO MISSING OVERNIGHT Totally normal stuff from a world-class health service. Victoria Rixon @Victoria_Rixon spent six and a half years as an NHS midwife. She watched labour wards run on two members of staff. She watched colleagues go 12.5 hour shifts without food, water, or a toilet break, each responsible for up to 20 patients at once. She watched a woman labour alone for ten hours behind a curtain with no care whatsoever. The baby needed emergency resuscitation. She reported what she saw. Because that is literally what the @NHS told her to do during induction. What happened next is a classic in how Britain's most trusted institution handles inconvenient truths. She was falsely accused of being responsible for the death of a baby. Her employer sent a cease and desist letter after her exit interview. And a member of NHS management delivered her a friendly warning: 'whistleblowers go missing overnight' An NHS manager. Said that. Out loud. To a midwife who raised patient safety concerns. On 9 April 2024, Victoria handed back her Nursing and Midwifery Council @nmcnews registration and walked away from the career she had trained four years for and loved every day of. Because she says the institution she worked for was actively harming the women and babies in its care and punishing anyone who said so. She is still speaking publicly. She is still being harassed. The NMC @nmcnews, NHS England @NHSEngland, and the Royal College of Midwives @MidwivesRCM have had inquiry after inquiry, report after report, and the wards are still dangerously short staffed. But sure. The system is fine. It just needs another review. Sources: Victoria Rixon personal testimony @Victoria_Rixon | @CartlandDavid Substack | The Dozen with Liam Tuffs podcast,

This is Eleanor El Shaikh. She has tirelessly and Pro Bono worked for those who have suffered at the hands of those at the Post Office who instigated the appalling scandal resulting in the false imprisonment and huge suffering of innocent Sub Postmasters. We salute you Eleanor and support your efforts to get to the bottom of 'Project Brisbane' which is likely to result in Investigations, Arrests, Prosecutions, Convictions and Prison Sentences.

In June the Post Office will be challenging the Information Commissioner at Tribunal because it is adamant it will not disclose a short redacted piece of information. The ICO ordered it to do so on grounds of Public Interest. We’re starting to see why…. postofficescandal.uk/?noptin_ns=ema…

UK FINANCIAL WATCHDOG FIRED ITS OWN BOSS. THEN TRIED TO HIDE IT BEHIND A TITLE. The Financial Ombudsman Service (@financialombuds) exists to hold financial firms accountable. In February 2025, it quietly pushed out its own CEO. Then spent months refusing to explain why. Abby Thomas had been Chief Executive and Chief Ombudsman since October 2022. She left on 6 February 2025, five days before she was due to appear before Parliament. The FOS called it a "mutual agreement." MPs called it what it actually was: a dismissal. The Treasury Committee (@CommonsTreasury) investigated. They asked FOS chair Baroness Manzoor to explain herself. She refused. Her reason? She's a member of the House of Lords. She claimed Parliament couldn't compel her to answer questions from Parliament. Eight different MPs tried to get a straight answer. Eight times she said "mutual agreement" and nothing else. The committee had to use formal powers of compulsion, ordering the FOS to hand over board minutes, severance documents, and any NDAs signed with Thomas. The FOS complied only after being legally forced to. What they found: no single event triggered the exit. Just a total collapse in confidence between Thomas and the board over strategy, management, and operations. Translation: she disagreed with the people above her about how to run the body that's supposed to protect consumers, and she lost. The severance package came to £229,869. That included £100,000 compensation for loss of office, nearly £108,000 in lieu of notice, and £22,177 in gardening leave. Paid out by a public body that exists to handle complaints from ordinary people who can't afford lawyers. Treasury Committee chair Dame Meg Hillier (@Meg_HillierMP) described the FOS leadership's conduct as "deeply disappointing." The committee's report called Baroness Manzoor's attempt to use Lords membership as a shield "unnecessary and disrespectful." They added that anyone who accepts a leadership role in a public body has to accept Commons scrutiny. Full stop. The body that investigates financial misconduct had to be legally compelled to disclose its own conduct. Nobody resigned. Nobody was prosecuted. Nobody was fined. Remember the Charing Cross incident? Where the train was in, staff told me to wait for the ramp at the platform, I positioned myself next to the door and then they dispatched the train? SouthEastern have sent this offensive communique.

@Doug_Paulley @Se_Railway This is not acceptable Doug. I apologise unreservedly on behalf of @Se_Railway. An investigation is underway. This is a train dispatch irregularity as well as a failed assist. Our team will be in touch with you.
