The Talmud is not Scripture. It’s a compiled record of rabbinic debates about how to interpret and apply the Torah in daily life. It’s a record of human reasoning about the law that comes from YHWH not God’s instruction itself. It builds a hall monitor like fence around the Torah,but sometimes that fence becomes the focus instead of the command itself. My issue isn’t with the Talmud studying or interpreting Torah, it’s when interpretation gains equal or greater authority than the Torah itself. As a Messianic that is my argument its extra biblical and non factual and do different than universal changes made by organized religion. When you actually map it out, a pattern emerges that’s impossible to ignore. The very categories debated in the Second Temple period,what counts as work, what counts as healing, what you can carry, what you can touch,those didn’t disappear. They were preserved, expanded, and eventually written down in what they now call the Talmud. And then you look at the miracles of Yeshua: Healing on the Sabbath. Making mud. Carrying a mat. Feeding the hungry. Every one of them intersects those exact categories. That’s not coincidence. Yeshua wasn’t just performing miracles. He was stepping directly into the framework of human interpretation… and revealing its limits. Not by debating it, but by moving through it with authority. Who cares about what they say in the Talmud, the KKK and the slave owner Democrats did the same. I’m not dismissing the tradition nor the bad thing in it. I’m recognizing what it is. The Torah is the foundation. But everything they built around it, no matter how sophisticated is still the work of men. Men are flawed. And if that man made structure becomes so rigid that it can’t recognize truth, healing, and the hand of YHWH right in front of it… then it’s no longer protecting the instruction from above. It’s standing in the way of it and should be ignored.
