@senderPath Sounds good. Would love to contribute to the slot space some day

@dotselve I probably already mentioned that I love your enthusiasm for subjectivity. Sorry about the capitals. I’m dictating. Check back with me or Russel in a bit. If we ever get a full speed VM, we could host the Korz demo snapshot on it.

@senderPath Hi David how’s your self in swift project going? I’m especially interested in a potential korz implementation. If korz exists in any form somewhere please let me know as I’ve been thinking a lot about a subjective ide. Thanks!

@senderPath Nice, would love to get that on my m1 mac at some point. I’ve mostly been thinking about a korz ensemble vm for apple silicon. I think your work on subjectivity/cop will be important in the agent era

Russell Allen has kept the original Self VM alive by funding ports to Linux boxes I think. And lately he vibe coated an interpreter for the 64 bit Mac.
I did get my interpreter far enough along to run the GUI. Although I tried to vibe code inlining to speed up my interpreter, each vibe coded optimization after the PICs just made it slower. And with all of the slow ones disabled, my interpreter and Swift was still much much much much much much slower than Russell Allen’s. It would be very interesting to see where the difference is. It could be in object allocation and reclamation, it could be another data structures, or it could be just how Swift is further away from the hardware than C. At any rate, I have suspended work on my own implementation while I work on getting the primitive facilities necessary for the Self debugger working in the classic VM with the interpreter.
I really appreciate your interest. And it’s possible I’m on a silly side track. I don’t know, though. I feel like performance matters at this layer of the software stack.

Read Chalmer's "The Combination Problem for Panpsychism", one of the strongest cases against panpsychism I know.

(it's not a problem for QRI's theory - topological segmentation of the field of consciousness provides a basis for the solution to the combination problem, but this isn't mainstream (yet))
