It totally sucks that the first year of the three-season window for McDavid to win a Stanley Cup in Edmonton saw him so limited by injury in the playoffs.

@dp85soon I’ve reported that they’ve been open to taking $ back in trades to increase the return, been a consideration with Kane for instance. Mentioned this a couple months ago

Move an expiring contract and take something back with term to increase the return.
It didn't apply to this trade because the Canucks don't have a Kulak equivalent but VAN should pursue these types of trades and I'd be surprised if they haven't.

Most people felt the Canucks did about as good as you could in the Hughes trade. At lest that was the early impression. They are trying to trade Sherwood but obviously haven’t got what they’re looking for in terms of an offer. On pace to get very high pick in draft

@garymasonglobe Gary, this take isn’t correct. Fans are upset because there’s no plan. Rutherford & Allvin held separate media availabilities after Hughes trade & we’ve heard very inconsistent messaging. If they actually came out with a clear message it would settle a lot of people down.

@SadClubCommish A lot of the frustration is also stemming from the fact that the @Canucks don’t get the benefit of the doubt. They STILL don’t behave or even communicate like they “get it” and will do what’s actually required. There is STILL fear in the fanbase that they will double down on this

@garymasonglobe Even with Miller and EP40 this core group had extremely limited and short lived success. Success with this core group was the EXCEPTION, not the rule. At the end of the day, this organization is a disaster, right from the top down.

Not defending management, just saying that there are a bunch of things happening, or have happened, that fans have been calling for. Clearly, no one could have foreseen the Miller-EP40 debacle or the dramatic falloff in the latter’s game
