The hardware club #1 was everything we hoped it’d be! We discussed: • PCB design & assembly • Open-source pick-and-place machines • Drones & robotics • Aerospace payloads & telemetry • Medical hardware (a lot of it) • IoT at scale • AI for hardware • ASIC vs FPGA (yes, this became a debate) A room full of people building wildly different things, united by the same urge to take things apart and build better ones. Tweet 9/10 Final insult: I had to arrange and pay to move this large, non-working fridge to the service centre myself. I had no space for two large fridges and if no one was coming to service I might as well leave it on their doorsteps

I’m claustrophobic and I haven’t been able to go in head first. Have had lumbar spine studied going in feet first. The noise, I don’t mind. Keeps my mind occupied. (Oh, and for those who don’t know, I’m a radiologist)

@DexterTempest @benedictevans Actually, no. Mains plug (& socket in the wall) isn’t standard even across the EU. They’ve hacked a solution for a certain level of cross compatibility.

@spinesurgeon I agree. All equipment have to be calibrated periodically. Even analogue style mercury sphygmomanometers. Also mercury is in rede my toxic to the environment. The other issue is people are using digital BP apparatus meant for domestic use in a professional setting.

The issue is not Mercury vs Digital The issue is Quality Control Precision and Accuracy depends on Quality Control and not technology Any technology can be used if Quality Control is strictly enforced
