I also don't think that some of the pedagogies mentioned in this thread could be implemented effectively within some of the learning environments some traditional schools create, so that environment piece could be deeply tied to pedagogy as well.

What's interesting about this list of reasons for homeschooling is that the biggest ones are defensive. I would think having a strong grasp on a particular pedagogy would be tops.

@HomeschoolBlack @BMenHomeschool @citizenstewart Based on my research with 70 Black homeschool families, homeschooling is a second choice. Meaning they initially placed their children in traditional schools (public or private) but chose homeschooling out of necessity given anti-Blackness experienced within those schools.

@ImJustNuru One thing, I recommend never relying completely on a school to educate your children. As parents we have to keep our children engaged in discovering new ideas and pursuing their wonderings!
