The fact this is ruled a “lodged ball” but then the CF has no problem picking it up and throwing it in is dumb.
He didn’t even make an effort to grab it right away.

Maybe this excerpt from the NBA Officials Manual will help. In order for Horford to be in LGP here, he has to have his torso squared up to Brunson, in the path Brunson is moving. It’s what we call the “T” principle. Check out the 2nd pic below. The plane of Horford’s body (red line) needs to be along the green line for his torso to be legally squared up in Brunson’s path. It essentially needs to form a “T” with the path the dribbler is moving, in order for him to obtain LGP in the dribblers path.

While u may not like the rule, maybe this will finally convince you that when a defender isn't in legal guarding position, and his foot causes the dribbler to fall, it is simply a foul on the defender... no matter how much it sucks for Horford, it's always a foul
