@vrhermit When the SwiftUI pushWindow API is used with snapped/pinned windows, it can break the window manager in surprising ways, including system crashes: FB21287011, FB21294645, FB21594646, FB21652261, FB21652271, FB21828413, FB21840747, FB21864652, FB21873482

Starting in visionOS 26, users can snap windows to vertical surfaces like walls and doors. surfaceSnappingInfo lets us access an isSnapped value. We can also read the classification of the snapped plane if out app includes the proper entitlements. stepinto.vision/example-code/h…

@banjun I'm doing something similar in RealityKit for the special case of glowing point sources, using bloom textures on billboard polygons, draw order, and ray casting to determine occlusion.😀

@drewolbrich I'm now thinking (hopefully refining), > "time is a reference for measur[ed/ing] process." It is the rate and/or measure at/by which something happens. Perhaps that definition works. x.com/TheMirzaBeig/s…
Mirza Beig@TheMirzaBeig

🤔 as a state: a reference/mapping/association of some observation (frame) to a periodic reference. ❓ as a measurement: of change (in state, form, structure, arrangement, index…), per/by some periodic rate. x.com/TheMirzaBeig/s…

What is "time"? someone replied, "Events." is that correct?

@TheMirzaBeig For example, compared to the Earth, time passes slightly *faster* on the Moon by about 56 microseconds per day, although this is a consequence of gravitational time dilation, which overwhelms the decrease in the rate of time passing resulting from its velocity orbiting the Earth.

@TheMirzaBeig The rate of the passage of time is a local, personal thing. When you write "it's 3pm", those are measurements that are only strictly meaningful in the context of the Earth.

Got sidetracked while working on my Agentic Coding tutorial for Apple Vision Pro… Discovered MeshInstanceComponent in RealityKit → super efficient for creating multiple entity copies. Perfect for a Boids sim 🐦 Runs smooth up to ~300 boids (frame drops start at 500).

In the RealityKit app I'm developing, I'm using ModelDebugOptionsComponent for debugging, but I also wanted to display other information that isn't supported, like draw order. I created a hacky scheme to swap in and out my own materials before and after each frame is rendered.

Just spotted a new feature in visionOS 26: you can now black out your surroundings during a screen recording. This is perfect for sharing experiences without having to tidy up your room — super useful 😄 In case you didn’t know: long-pressing the screen recording button reveals more advanced settings, including this new option.

@arman_jra It does feel that way. I’m also not sure what to make of the fact that Reality Composer Pro wasn’t updated for WWDC25.

Thinking about exploring Godot. Сreating a complex game with just RealityKit is either impossible or takes 10x more time.
