Self custodial wallets like zeus throwing their principles under the bus just to add etrash isn’t what I expected I have to admit. If you are running a node on your mobile, it makes zero sense to use etrash.

I cannot overstate the enormous amount of effort and energy he puts into Bitcoin as freedom money. Do you follow any of the work he does outside of X? While you are comfortably sitting behind a keyboard, he is also organizing the Oslo Freedom Forum next week, now in its 17th year.

I used to look up to Gladstein Especially after his 2019 keynote at the Magical Crypto Conference He seemed to understand what’s going on Even wrote a few decent articles about the petrodollar and why bitcoin makes the world fairer Great virtue signaler, extremely bad tech evaluator At this point, I am not even sure if he’s actually that dumb or he’s an evil shill for half-baked privacy technologies in which his foundation invested

You only built CT for Liquid, then Monero and Grin took some of the research and used it (ringCT, Bulletproofs++, Dandelion++). Virtue signaling about research is nice. But when are we gonna make that useful?

the problem with this whole discussion around zcash versus bitcoin is that bitcoin could offer something very similar to zcash if given a way to do SNARK verification in Script (i.e. GSR) i wish the conversation focused on that instead of arguments over zcash's silly premine!

It's that part of the market cycle where on-net, money is leaving the ecosystem, which means large cap assets (bitcoin and ethereum) suffer, and frustrated traders FOMO into smaller coins because those are the only markets that can move in such an environment. Be weary of narratives forming right now. Narratives follow price, not the other way around. These types of people are traders, they don't actually like Near, or Zcash or Venice or Hyperliquid or whatever. They just like it right now because it's green. And they are fully aware the trade is zero-sum. Their plan is to FUD bitcoin as much as they can, because getting you to dump your BTC and buy their bags is their entire investment thesis. I was a Bitcoin maxi. We were told small blocks would keep it ultra secure and decentralized, and payments would be built on layer twos They said self-custodial Lightning could scale and custodial wallets are temporary. Nope. Anyone who spoke the truth was ridiculed That’s why we are hard forking Bitcoin. We are building the layer twos that were promised to us. Either Bitcoin will do the simplest soft fork, or it will be replaced ECASH is not like other hard forks. It is not like other altcoins. It is the altcoin to end all altcoins ECASH is not actually making any upgrades that Bitcoin cannot make itself. The blocksize will be decreased to 400kb and we are adding drivechains. Bitcoin can do this today, and the software to do it has been built If you don’t know what drivechains are, now is a good time to learn. The fork is coming in August, and if Bitcoin doesn’t act soon, it will be too late ECASH holders will be richer and more sovereign than Bitcoiners can hope for
