Good sir, you have been misled through your media of choice. Slowing of the video, and a step-by-step analysis shows that the driver was clearly moving toward the officer, with wheels pointed in his direction, and spinning. We won't know what was in her head; we won't know if she was *trying* to run him down, but the fact remains that was clearly in the process of running him down. By US law, and probably law in most jurisdictions, his actions were legal. I'm not making a moral judgment, but a legal one. One side is talking about the law while the other is talking about morality (as they see it). Those are at least TWO different concepts.

Many years ago, whilst driving in the US, I was stopped by a police officer with his hand on his gun. Being British I went to exit my vehicle. Mistake. Out came his firearm and I was ordered to remain in the vehicle. Thereafter, apart from being mistaken for an Australian, he was polite. At no time did I think that driving off, or worse, driving at him was my best course of action. People must take responsibility for their actions.

@JohnCleese Having watched it many times having heard many takes on what happened, she deliberately tried to run that agent down after she backed the car up and turned it to face him then she accelerates. Whether all three shots where necessary is questionable, I'm no expert.
