I’d love to tell you all my stories of taking bullets out of people’s brains and spines but I live in #Australia so there have only been 2, despite working in the biggest and busiest #trauma centres for over a decade #ThisISMyLane #Thisisourlane Prevention is better than cure.

Spain takes victory lap as EU coalesces around Sánchez’s anti-war position — Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s condemnation of the U.S. and Israel’s attack on Iran initially made him an outlier in Europe. Now everyone wants in politico.eu/article/spain-…

Israeli settlers escalate their incursions into Taybeh, the West Bank’s last fully Christian town, raising concerns over further land appropriation. The parish priest, Father Bashar Fawadleh, appeals for international intervention, as residents face mounting restrictions and call for peace, justice, and protection. vaticannews.va/en/church/news…

Israel is threatening to destroy Tyre. Tyre (Sour) is Lebanese. But also part of world history: cradle of Phoenician seafaring, source of Tyrian purple - the colour of Roman Emperors, the birthplace of Stoicism, and site of Alexander’s famous siege. An assault on us all.

Spain's renewables build-out has structurally decoupled its electricity prices from gas markets. Gas now sets the price in only 15% of hours, compared to 90% in Italy. Countries that invested early in clean power are far less exposed to fossil fuel price shocks.

A heartfelt plea to churches and Christian leaders around the world from your fellow Palestinian Christians: Palestinian Christians are facing an imminent threat of disappearing from the Holy Land, the birthplace of Christianity and home to the oldest Christian community on earth. Amid relentless attacks by Israeli settlers, land theft, displacement, and the impact of Israeli occupation policies, hundreds of Palestinian Christian families are now considering leaving the Holy Land--pushing our communities toward disappearance. You still have time to act. With hope and faith, we ask you to raise your voices, stand with us, and help ensure that the Palestinian Christian presence in the Holy Land does not fade away in silence. savewestbankchristians.com

Special Envoy Jillian Segal concedes Harbour Bridge march not antisemitic - Michael West 'When pressed on why she believed the Harbour Bridge protest was antisemitic, Segal conceded that the protest itself was not antisemitic but it undermined “social cohesion”. “I’m not saying it’s antisemitic,” she said.“But it is antithetical to what we want in our country and building social cohesion.” 'Some attendees criticised comparisons made during the discussion between protest activity and violent incidents. Rebecca Parker, a designer and Jewish resident of the City of Port Phillip whose grandparents survived the Holocaust, said she was concerned about how events were framed.“I was shocked when I heard [Segal] use the examples of two peaceful protests alongside the horrific violent extremist attack at Bondi,” Parker said.“I think that drawing parallels between these very different types of events is extremely dangerous and only makes Jewish people feel unnecessarily unsafe.”Parker also criticised the push to encourage local councils to adopt the IHRA definition.“It was clear from her speech that she wants to be the arbiter of what is considered antisemitic and what is not,” she said.' 'Another attendee, Veronica Sherman, said she was confused by the suggestion that the Sydney Harbour Bridge protest could be interpreted as antisemitic.“I was there holding a banner that said I was Jewish and I was absolutely welcomed with open arms,” Sherman said.“I was hugged, I was thanked. There were people crying with me.”Sherman also questioned the absence of progressive Jewish organisations from the event.“I was disappointed that Jewish Council Australia hadn’t been invited at all. There seems to be no voice other than the Zionist Jewish voice,” she said. She also raised concerns about the influence of overseas organisations in Australian public policy debates.“Australians aren’t worried enough about foreign interference,” Sherman said. “This is a foreign organisation that is paying to have a say and impact in local councils.”' 'Jen Weinstein, another attendee, said antisemitism should be addressed alongside other forms of racism.“Racism should be addressed holistically. When we reinforce protections across the whole society, everyone benefits including Jewish Australians,” Weinstein said.“The most effective way to combat antisemitism in Australia is the same way we should address all racism by implementing our existing National Anti-racism Framework.”' michaelwest.com.au/jillian-segal-…

From Gaza to Iran, the pattern is the same: precision weapons, chosen blindness, and dead children. The cost of failing to regulate AI warfare is already too high. ** My thoughts @guardian theguardian.com/us-news/ng-int…

When nearly 4,000 Google employees sign petitions, 13 Palantir employees walk out, and OpenAI’s head of robotics resigns over AI drifting into warfare, surveillance, and state power… we should listen. When the insiders sound the alarm, that’s a warning.

A simple way to tell if an individual or group is possessed by evil is by observing how they treat children. This is Mikaeil Mirdoraghi. He was killed in a U.S. airstrike on his school in Minab, Iran. The photograph is of his final goodbye to his mother. Pray for Peace 🙏

Today may have been long and exhausting, but I am deeply happy to have rescued the library of the Palestinian Centre for Policy and Development. It is a profound honor to know that these books were once read by Dr. Refaat Alareer. We have saved over 1,000 specialized books covering Palestinian, Zionist, and Israeli studies. We need your support to print more books for the @phoenixlibrary1 . We are still in need of a larger collection. The cost of paper and printing is extremely high in Gaza, as the occupation continues to block the entry of paper and books. Please continue to support us through the link. chuffed.org/project/firstg…

Jesus’ harshest words in the gospels wasn’t towards prostitutes, other religions, or undocumented immigrants. Jesus’ harshest words were towards the rich and religious who used God’s words to justify exploitation and oppression. Yet many want us to believe the opposite.
