This is a classic articulation of the "logos/rhema" distinction. Logos = written word of God / logic / reasoning Rhema = spoken word of God / "now word" / "revelation" (the "word of the Lord came" to a prophet) The only problem is that this distinction is false. 👇⬇️🧵 1/

Often, the greatest prayers are not the longest. Here are a few I often pray. "I don't know what to do, but my eyes are on You." 2 Chron. 20:12 "I believe, help my unbelief." Mk. 9:24 "Lord, save me." Mt. 14:30 "Lord, help me." Mt. 15:25 "Jesus, have mercy on us." Lk. 17:40

When I was a Youth Pastor, in my mid-20's, a very wise and experienced pastor told me: "You focus on the depth and integrity of your ministry, and let the Lord take care of the width and platform of it." I wrote that advice in my Bible, and have never forgotten it.

In the gospels, Jesus asks 308 questions. Good way to evangelize & disciple.

Wes Streeting says he is 'not comfortable' with the puberty blockers trial. A message for @wesstreeting - you seem like a good bloke. You are well respected. I even agree with some of what you say. But you must know this is awful. Pumping a confused ten year old with such vile medication is wrong. It's indefensible. I am sure it is not why you got into politics. You are the one who can stop this from happening. Please, stop it. It's putting confused young boys and girls in harm's way for absolutely no reason. And they will suffer, hugely. I signed a cross-party letter, organised by @RosieDuffield1. With @Jonathan_Hinder, @Rebecca_SPaul, @SarahForRuncorn, @carlalockhart, @iqbalmohamedMP and @SarahLudford. Supported by many others, from across Parliament. All cross-party, don't agree on much else with some of them. We all agree on this. Please Wes, leave these confused boys and girls alone. If every pastor learned from an older pastor and invested in a young pastor, a lot of the discouragement, burnout, and leaving ministry among pastors would improve.
