What a week! The physical Data Science Africa event returned to Uganda after 10 years, bringing together participants from across Africa and beyond. The map says it all—our community continues to grow in reach and diversity. While Uganda hosted a virtual edition in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was truly special to welcome the community in person once again. A heartfelt thank you to all the participants, speakers, volunteers, partners, and the outstanding organising committee who made the week such a success. We showcased live demos on IoT and AI for Environment: live bioacoustics edge inferencing, rain gauge quality control and Graphcast predictions, camera trap data processing and individual reidentification.
