@imduditz @Timcast "normal people" lol Most "normal people" understand that reveling in your political adversary's death is tactless, the part that's supposed to stay quiet, even if you feel it, because it lowers your character. Especially if you're the sitting President of a nation.

@throwawaytras @AnnaRMatson In a way she's right, because mothers with BPD pass it down to their children, and then their children seek an autism diagnosis, if the mother hasn't already gotten them one. Autism, ADHD, OCD, gluten intolerance...all fashionable diseases for BPD cases. They usually have all.

Barry Keoghan says hate about his looks made him “not want to go outside.” The actor, known for Saltburn and Dunkirk, revealed he faced “disgusting commentary” online, especially after his split from Sabrina Carpenter, which led him to delete ig. “There’s a lot of hate online… a lot of abuse of how I look,” he said. “It’s made me really go inside myself… not want to attend places, not want to go outside.” “It’s becoming a problem… because then you don’t even want to be on screen anymore.”

🔥🚨DEVELOPING: Gen-Z and Millennial Americans have started a growing trend of attending “Laughter Clubs” where you can go meet up with other adults to laugh on command with each other to help deal with stress. This practice started in 1995 but seems to be gaining a lot of traction with the two youngest adult generations.

Michelangelo did not lock himself in a room for years though. That is not how art worked in the Renaissance! He worked for wealthy patrons, including the pope, under a lot of stress. The issue is that wealthy patrons nowadays don’t value art, and don’t commission it.
@BALUCIAGA

we don’t have a ‘michelangelo’ of this generation bc capitalism doesn’t let people disappear and lock themselves in a room for twenty years to create something beautiful. that level of greatness comes from isolation, time and obsession and none of that is being protected anymore.

What really helped LOTR a lot is that the movies were released a year apart. Three Christmases in a row had a LOTR movie. That’s something that will never happen again.
Cinema Tweets@CinemaTweets1

Do you think it’s possible that the Dune Trilogy could compete with The Lord of the Rings Trilogy? I’m genuinely asking if we might one day compare these sagas. Dune doesn’t have the #Oscars LOTR does, but that could change in one year. Either way, this generation has its trilogy

Dr. Gerry Curatola just exposed a wild contradiction in children's toothpaste: Seven class-action lawsuits are targeting Colgate, Procter & Gamble and others because kids' fluoride toothpaste is literally made to look and taste like candy… yet every tube carries the warning: “KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN” He asks: “How does that make sense? Keep it away from kids… but they’re supposed to put it in their mouth?” Clip from this 23-second eye-opener — the poison warning vs. candy-like design clash. Does this feel like a massive oversight… or is the warning just legal cover while they market it as fun for kids? Your thoughts — drop them below.

For 99% of human history, the average lifespan sat below 40 years. By 1900, it was 32. Today it’s 73. In roughly 200 years, we nearly doubled it through engineering: sanitation, antibiotics, vaccines, surgery. Kurzweil’s argument is that nanobots are simply the next engineering leap in a sequence that was always heading somewhere radical. The mechanism isn’t speculative. Nanobots operating between 1-100 nanometers — smaller than most human cells — already exist in early medical form. Researchers at MIT and Harvard have demonstrated DNA-based nanobots capable of targeting and destroying cancer cells in living animals. In 2023, scientists deployed lipid nanoparticles to edit genes inside the human body in real time. The infrastructure of this technology is already being laid, quietly, in laboratories most people have never heard of. What Kurzweil predicts by 2030 is the convergence point — when computational power, miniaturization, and biotechnology cross a threshold simultaneously. His underlying framework, the Law of Accelerating Returns, shows technology doesn’t advance linearly. It compounds. The biological progress made in the last 10 years outweighs the previous 50 combined. The deeper disruption nobody discusses: if radical life extension arrives, every system humans built around mortality collapses simultaneously. Pension structures, inheritance law, religious frameworks, population models, the entire psychological architecture of “legacy” — all of it assumed a fixed human lifespan. 86% accuracy over four decades means the burden of proof quietly shifted. The people who should be most unsettled aren’t skeptics. They’re the ones who already made peace with dying.
Kekius Maximus@Kekius_Sage

🚨 Futurist Ray Kurzweil predicts: by 2030, humans could be closer than ever to immortality, thanks to nanobots. Ray’s been right about ~86% of his past predictions. This could be his boldest yet.

@AshtonForbes I can't speak to THIS particular situation, but if you've ever declined debating a flat earther, sometimes the answer is that the other person is so far below you intellectually that you know it's going to be a pointless, exhausting endeavor that ultimately isn't worth your time.

@iluminatibot It literally takes 2 minutes to work out the math on how much of your payment is going solely to interest, for the loan to not go down means this person was only putting $60 per month into this loan. This is 100% a self-inflicted wound, incurred by an idiot with no agency.

@foardeetou @TOEwithCurt The theory's implication is that all the electrical events happening in your brain that produce your thoughts are set in motion by a causal chain of prior events, ergo the substance of your thoughts do not prove, nor disprove the theory, they are merely the result of the chain.

General relativity isn’t one theory. It’s actually a family of variants. This means whether the universe is deterministic or not depends on which version you pick. Further, most who say “general relativity forbids time travel” may have quietly assumed what they’re trying to prove. Manchak’s work shows a certain pattern: add an assumption, derive a conclusion, then forget the assumption was doing all the heavy lifting. Super interesting. LINK IN REPLY
