@DecodingFoxNews It is part of the Easter Octave through this coming Sunday, which addition to being the Second Sunday of Easter is Divine Mercy Sunday. Then it is the Easter Season all the way through Pentecost.

@VadeadIesum It depends. When I go to mass in another language, I generally do not say the response but I try my best to pray it and to think about it. I try my best to participate then, as mass is mass no matter what the language is in which it is celebrated.

What's it mean when over half the people in Mass don't participate or say the responses?

@GuyanaOilDesk @keithedwards If he has such an important decision, it seems that prayer is even more important. Not going to church does not seem to be the right way to go about that type of discernment.

BREAKING: Trump skipped all three scheduled Easter masses he was meant to attend today. Something is wrong with the president and the White House is keeping it from us.

@DougHeye I am Catholic and I love it when they have mass at my workplace. I work at a university and love it when the Newman Center has mass in our classrooms. I have been to mass at a law firm and attorneys there seemed happy about it as well.

@lukeburgis I just happen to be a fan of that parish. Whenever I travel to New York, I go out of my way to go to mass there. I have been a fan of it for years. Great Dominican preaching, great music, great community. They always make me feel welcome.

I'm a serious Catholic and have been for 16 years. The girl I fell in love with, who is now my wife and mother of my two daughters, was baptized, confirmed, and received her first communion at St. Joseph's in the West Village—today the "hottest club in town", according to the New York Times—in 2017, while we were dating. We went to Old St. Pat's from 2017-2019; So I have a story that goes back long before these vibe shift pieces in the media. Am I not allowed to say that I find something about the media narrative strange and, in many cases, cringe? Of course I'm happy to see a ton of young people filling the pews of my former parish, and many others around the country. But opinions on these matters, at least among Catholics, have begun to feel like we're living in North Korea: 99% in one direction. I think that betrays a profound problem and weakness in the Church—a desperation or insecurity, even. The medium is indeed the message, and the medium is no longer the Church.

@jimbretzke Does Pope Leo take questions from reporters the way that Pope Francis did? If so, it seems that this would be a great topic for reporters to ask about in questions.

@davidshepardson @WhiteHouse Because EAS mainly goes to rural areas, I would not be surprised if this actually hurts more Republican voters than Democrat voters.

El Reconqristador ابو شربل 🇲🇽
We spent years listening to right wingers lament Francis' supposedly misplaced pastoral priorities because he didn't fixate on abortion and gays. Leo basically never talks about those things--at all--and just talks about migrants and peace. But, yeah, he's a liturgical normie.
El Reconqristador ابو شربل 🇲🇽@crawlings13

I am surprised there are people who think Leo is *more* conservative than Francis. He seems to me distinctly *less* so. But he's institutional and conciliatory ("normie") while Francis was radical and prophetic, which spiritually shallow people mistook for blunt progressivism.

Reminder: The law creating the TSA includes a provision allowing airports to opt out & run their own security. Which, after 25 years of TSA failure & constantly being at the mercy of congressional psychodrama, is what they should all be doing right about now

Ossoff: "Last night the White House put a video on social media that depicted this war as a video game. When American service members killed in action are returning to the US in flag-draped coffins, and even more Americans have lost limbs or suffered terrible brain injuries or are fighting for their lives, this White House treats war like a game. It's a disgrace. And it speaks to the moral rot of this administration."

@hy_wemmy Because men are taught that anything more than that constitutes sexual harassment. I even heard them teach that at a church meeting, indicating that it is not just in the workplace where men are taught this.

@ChaseForLiberty Why don't more airports do what they do at SFO? There, airport security is handled by contractors who meet TSA guidelines, rather than TSA officials.

Maybe our airport security shouldn't be dependent on the broken two-party system in Washington DC. It should be private. It would work better and be less expensive. Abolish the TSA

This exchange just happened on the Senate floor. Cornyn: “I don’t understand how the SAVE Act disenfranchises voters.” Durbin: “Happy to explain. Driver’s licenses don’t qualify under the bill. 50% of Americans don’t have passports.” Cornyn: “Why not just amend it?” Durbin: “When’s the last time the Senate actually amended a bill?” Silence. The SAVE Act requires passport-level documentation to register to vote. 50% of Americans don’t have a passport. The people least likely to have passports: the elderly, the poor, rural Americans, young first-time voters. The people most likely to have passports: wealthy Americans. This is not voter protection. This is voter selection. And when a senator suggested fixing it — his own colleague couldn’t name the last time the Senate amended anything. That’s the Senate in 2026.

Security at Houston Hobby! I've never seen anything like this. 1.5 hour wait to check bags, 4-5 hours for regular security. We missed our flight after waiting in Clear line for 2 hours, pre-check wasn’t open originally & randomly opened at shift change & we sprinted to that line.
